How many nights does it take to count the stars? That's the time it would take to fix my heart.

The hospital room was cold, uninviting,  and offered plenty of time for you to remember a lot of things. Specifically one particular day...
**flashback**
"That color looks really nice on you," Neymar murmured. It was a cold day where you had also been working on that dumb project, but had taken a break to eat some arroz con leche and sweet bread.
"Thanks, its my absolute favorite- a nice green always seems very earthy to me, a good color" you explain.

"Pues, te ves muy preciosa" he replied.

His adoring eyes searched yours, making you feel very hot all of a sudden, certain it wasn't because of the hot drink.
"Oh?"
Complimenting you made you uncomfortable and he knew it, but he loved teasing you so he did it nearly every day, pointing out your nice hair, eyes, even shoes. He loved the blush that creeped across your cheeks, earning him a grin of satisfaction.

What scared you was that you secretly lived for these words, his approval was something that you didn't necessarily look for, but was granted anyways. The idea of falling for Neymar Jr. didn't seem so crazy after all. ***

Things had definitely changed since that day with him, the comforting nature he had always provided was no longer present, the triangle that you thought could be avoided was present and out of control, damaging those that you loved most. Something needed to be done, of that you were certain. Neymar's pain had one main source: you. Rafinha was now in the hospital because of you, and even if you hadn't necessarily forced him to leave, your choice had had a bad effect on him.

The suffering you seemed to burden the two people you loved most was too much to bear, and you stopped visiting after you knew Rafinha was out of the hospital. You planned to stop causing them pain, you had taken a break but that did not work. Now it was time to leave for good.
