"NOW WATCH ME WHIP! NOW WATCH ME NAE NAE! OKAY!" Josh yelled next to me. I laughed and covered my ears. "NOW WATCH ME WHIP! NOW WATCH ME NAE NAE!" I joined him. "NOW BREAK YOUR LEGS! BREAK YOUR LEGS!"
It's a good thing that it was dark and we were driving on a very deserted road or else people would have thought that we were lunatics.
In the faint distance, my eyes managed to pick up the rough shape of the boarder. By that time, we had already finished our little karaoke session as an unfamiliar song was played on the radio.
Josh turned to me. "Alright alright do you remember you-"
"My name's Thea Collins, just turned 18 and previously was from the Twin Peak pack." I cut him off, rolling my eyes towards the end. This was getting irritating.
Josh peeked at me and saw me sulking. He poked my cheek with his index, "Aw come on! You know I wouldn't do this if it wasn't necessary."
"I know." I looked out the window.
I hated this. Every single time we changed pack, I would need to find a new identity, which meant a fake name, fake birthday, complete make over and stuff like that. For my new look, I had to dye my hair a light shade of blonde and wore green contacts. Even worse than that, my buddy next to me who was currently poking my face, decided that to make sure no one could really recognize me, even gave me a new fake personality. Once we reached the new pack, I was supposed to be this reserved, shy and quiet young girl, which is basically the opposite of me.
Josh parked the car right outside the boarder. He gave me a pat on the back before leaving the car, leaving me all alone in the car. I took a deep breath.
My name is Thea Collins from the Twin Peak pack. I rehearsed in my head.
I stepped out of the car, joining Josh and the Alpha of the Red Valley pack. He had a tall muscular figure, probably around 6'1 or 6'2, blonde hair and blue eyes.
He gave us a small waive. Reminding myself that I was Thea Collins, I nodded in his direction.
Josh stepped up. "Hi. I'm Tyler Young and this is Thea Collins. Thanks for accepting our request to transfer into this pack so quickly."
The Alpha shook his hand. "No problem. You can call me Alpha Carter. Now please stretch out your hands."
I've been over this a million times. I stretched my arm out warily and he took my palm and started whispering some ancient crap and then he signalled me to walk over the line. He did the same to Josh. Once we brought our luggage over, he smiled.
"Welcome to the Red Valley pack. Here, my Beta will show you to your new home." We thanked him and let his Beta, Mike, lead us to wherever.
We walked down a road of similar buildings until we got to our designated home.
"Here you go." Mike said, handing us over to us the keys. Josh thanked him and took the keys. The house was nice, simple and had two floors.
I ran up the second floor and choose the room on the right.
"I call dibs on this room!" I yelled.
Josh just replied with a grunt, struggling to bring all our luggages up the stairs. I laughed and took my bag. After that, Josh put up a protection spell on our house like every other house we stayed in and as usual, I would sit next to him, trying to cast the same spell but my magic wasn't a strong as him.
When I was about 4, my parents introduced me to Josh. They told me that he was a wizard. First image that came to mind: an old guy with a beard, pointy hat, robe with stars and maybe a pair of old man's glasses. When I told Josh that, he laughed and picked me up, spinning me around until I asked if I why the world was moving around me.
