I had missed one day of school.
When I arrived to school, I realized that I was quite late for my first class. I rushed into Music, trying to slip past the teacher but epically failing.
She caught me trying to sneak past her, which was a stupid idea but for some reason I decided to do it, and she made me sit next to her for the rest of the class. I sighed and slumped in my seat. I heard whispers flying around me, and I knew that it wasn't about being late for class or me sitting so close to the old snooty teacher, but it was probably about what happened last Saturday.
It turns out, the club was like a regular thing for people to attend every weekend at my school, so I'm guessing that they all probably knew what happened. Right now, I'm just hoping and wishing that no one will ask questions.
But Karma hates me.
Once class ended, a fairly large number of people surrounded me, and started attacking me with questions I didn't want to answer.
"What the heck happened?"
"You know the Alpha?"
I did the most sensible thing I could think of, and ran away from the classroom.
"Wait!" I heard someone cry out. I dashed across the school yard, across the car park, and eventually lost them. I found myself standing at the edge of the road and I ran a hand through my hair. Why? Why was this happening to me? Ever since I met my mate, everything got so complicated. I wish things would just settle down for once. I pulled out my phone and called Josh to pick me up.
After about ten minutes, I saw his grey car pull up. I jumped up and ran in delight to open the car door, and I sat in the front seat.
"Joshy! I haven't been more glad to see you my entire life!" I sigh, fastening my seat belt. He waved his hand, irritated.
"Yeah yeah. You interrupted me when I was int the middle of this spell I'm trying to cast so when we get back just shush." He said, annoyed. I laughed and lowered the seat. He smiled and glanced at me.
"Tough day?" He asked.
"You can't even imagine." I said.
"Serves you right for getting drunk, and then staying over at the Alpha's for the night, and the whole time you left poor Josh clueless to where you were and what you were doing." I rolled my eyes.
"Stop being such a baby! I apologized about a billion times already! Need to learn on this forgiveness buddy!" I ruffled his hair. He shook away his head and tried to bite my hand. Fortunately, I was able to counter that move by jerking upwards but unfortunately, I banged my head against the car door. At that moment, the song Bang My Head by David Guetta started playing.
Josh smiled. "Must be fate." He said. I rolled my eyes, changing channels. I looked down at my phone and saw a bunch of missed messages. They were from my friends wondering where I was and what the heck happened. Messages were still streaming in so I decided to switch it off.
When we got back I went downstairs. Josh was going to teach me something, and frankly I was more than happy to do whatever it was. Ever since my parents were killed, fighting and training was my only escape. It was like how a dancer would describe dance as a escape from life or a bookworm describing reading as a form of escape from reality. Every day, I would practice for at least 5 hours and that kept my mind off from everything. I guess I didn't really give myself time to mourn for my parents because I was so focused on my training and fighting skills so I could eventually defeat the rouges which had killed them.
