So much for that plan. Sarge decided that I had to command one more time before giving it up. On my “last command”, I lead my unit into enemy fire and took out all of them. The other unit was resting their wounded, so I had the only unit that was fighting. And since I was the leader, I became the miracle worker of the army. I was promoted to Corporal early today. It isn’t much of a promotion, but it gives me permanent command over half of the unit. I was allowed to choose which people. Jim took some convincing on Sarge’s half, but I got him eventually. Jim has become a good buddy of mine, as well as Bill. We talk everyday when we wake up. About the war, about home, our likes and dislikes, just normal stuff that people back home would talk about. There's a place I miss a lot. Good old Utah. I plan on taking the first flight home once the war is over. I wonder why Mom isn’t writing back?
