It is starting to get cold again. Sarge was right about one thing. It was a trap. I lost count of how many times I have apologized to him. The battle was a disaster. We lost over fifty men within the hour. We only came in with a little over a hundred troops. I thought that would be enough. We had them on the run for a while. Perhaps that was where that explosion came from. It didn’t look American. I can’t believe I was so stupid, but Jim had to pay the price. Sergeant Haskins had me dropped back down to corporal.
