I haven’t been put in charge for a while. Sarge has stayed with us for most of the fighting. We have lost a few men in both units but it was well worth it to get those freaks. They are still using those cannons, but Sarge came up with a plan to stop them. We made nets strong enough to catch the iron balls and we are now using them to make new bullets for our guns. I would never have thought of that. Sarge should stay as leader, not put me in charge. I should tell him that next time we meet. But until then, I can still show my appreciation for the position he gave me. The other officers are also starting to get used to the idea that I could be in command at any time. They don’t like the idea any more than they ever did, but they are getting used to it.
