I haven’t had much time for writing. With all of the battles going on, we have moved to another base, farther from the fighting. I still have not gotten the chance to participate in the war, in truth, I believe the Army considers me deadwood, just another log on the fire. The heat of battle burns from these logs, and I helped make it. If they would only give me a chance, I would show them how you build a fire! Hey, that ain’t half bad. Maybe I could be a writer after the war is over. It shouldn’t be much longer. The enemy is backing down now as it is, and my unit is going through last minute training exercises. I hope that means I will finally get to fight. Either that, or April Fools’ Day is celebrated here too.
