Honestly, it's starting to scare me how alike Allie and I are.
"Hello, Earth to Max." A hand is waving in front of my face, I guess I zoned out. It was Falcon's hand. And he called me Max.
"Wh-h- Yes?" I stammered in shock. He called me Max.
"Ahem. Allie is gone.. Remember?"
"Allie is what?! Allie.. Allie. ALLIE!" I murmur, then jump out the same window she did.
It's so not safe for her to be out after that random eraser attack. Oh, its all my fault. If I hadn't left she would know how to fight and she could be out alone.
I need to find her fast.
"M-mo- Max, I'll help you find her." You can't see, but I have a very blank expression.
Just like Allie, he should not be here. He's even younger then her. Dear God, I'm a horrible mother.
I stop abruptly in the air. I'm not letting my only son and daughter get hurt. If someone wants to get to them they have to go through me first.
"Go home, now."
"I'm going to help you find my sister." Like father, like son. Stubborn as a mule.
And wait. Did I hear him right? He said 'my' so protectively, as if she weren't my daughter.
"I said, now. I don't need either of you getting hurt."
"Too late, you should have thought of that before you abandoned us!" He hates me too. Perfect.
"Please, Falcon, go home, tell your dad that I'm looking for Allie and he should get the flock together just in case. Please. For your mom." Okay, now I kind of understand saying 'mom' to someone you hardly know is a little odd, but still.
"Fine." That's the last thing I hear before he angrily flaps home.
Okay, now that that is taken care of. Where do I start?
The cave. The, ahem, magical, reunion spot. But wait. His body is still there. She wouldn't go back would she?
Mhm. Well it's a start.
It only takes a couple of minutes to get there and of course my gut instinct was right. Nada, nothing there.
My next resort is just flying around. Hopefully, I get a clue of I don't know, something.
I know this island like the back of my hand, so if something is different I will know. Although, now that I think about it, I don't know my hand that well. Well, it's an expression just go with it.
Suddenly, I see it. A broken branch. That, I assure you my friend, has never been there before.
Max, think. Why is there a broken branch. The Voice said. It's not just a broken branch.
