The next morning Sam woke to find himself on Charlie's couch and Dean in the lazyboy chair, they had been up all night trying to figure everything out, Charlie refused to believe what he'd seen in John's journal, even after reading about himself in it.
"Werewolf I'll believe, 'coz I've seen that with my own two eys, but giant black hell dogs? I find that hard too believe..."
Charlie had said...
Dean just laughed, the fact he'd almost died helping their father kill one supernatural creature, but refused to believe that they'd be anything else out there, that was equally as bad as a werewolf, if not worse.
Sam just shrugged it off knowing full well Charlie knew deep down that things just weren't right in the town of Forks supernatural being or not.
After Charlie had taken Billy and Jacob home, he sat and read parts of John's journal wide eyed and pale faced, Sam thought he was going to throw up at one point and placed a waste paper basket beside him just incase. But once he'd read enough he put the journal down, shook his head and laughed it off as best he could, if anything the Winchesters knew he was just putting a brave face on, not willing to believe it because it truely scared the crap outta him.
There was a post it stuck to Sam's laptop, he stretched and yawned as he read the note to himself...
Sam and Dean,
I'll be at the sheiff's office when you 2 knuckle heads decide to join me, Bella made some muffins and theres coffee in the pot. Also the spare key is on the ledge of the front door, I'm sure Bella would have already left for school, don't forget to lock up!
C.
He looked at the time, 11.08am "Charlie's gonna kill us." he slumped back on the couch, as Dean sat up and looked around, almost resembling a meerkat.
"I smell fresh blueberry muffins.." he sniffed the air, "...and coffee!" he got up and headed for the kitchen.
"He called us knucleheads..." Sam said with a snigger joining Dean for a mug of coffee and a muffin or two.
"So, you defenatly think its a hellhound of some kind thats killing the hikers?" Sam asked sitting at the table, which had gone back to its original place under the window.
"Could be, could be not, either way I think the old mans hiding something." Dean replied with a mouthful, straddling a chair placing his coffee in front of him. Sam looked at him confused.
"Old man who?... Billy?" he sipped his coffee and ran his hand through his hair.
"Yeah, he talked a good game and all, but i still think theres just something else there besides, legends of the tribe, yada yada yada.."
"I guess, I did some digging into that but theres nothing beyond what he'd told us about the Quileute tribe." They sat in silence for a few minutes, helping themselves to some more coffee then Dean actually had a thought.
"So what about that hot hippy chick?" Sam almost spat his coffee all over the table. "You mean the one that 'claimed' to be a vampire and tried to kill you?" Dean smirked, but then gave his brother a goofy grin. "Yeah her." Sam shrugged. "I don't honestly know, I mean she might of been telling the truth.."
"Ya' think? you shot her in the back with the sawn-off and I tried to put a slug in her head, nothing stopped her...it was like she was some kind of..of.."
"Mutant?" They got their things together and cleaned up and headed for the door. "Yeah...like Wolverine."
"Dean, the X-Men aren't real"
"I know that Sammwich, it was an example, DUH!" Sam found the key and locked up behind them as Dean made his way down the steps towards the Impala. Sam put the key back in its hiding spot, went to the Impala and got in as Dean brought his baby to life.
As they made their way into town Sam looked around and let out a sudden huff. Dean looked at him then back at the road a couple of times. "What?" Sam shook his head. "We're going the wrong way..." he checked the map. "This is the way to Forks High, you should have turned right back there." he gestured with his thumb pointing over his shoulder.
"Well thanks for telling me Captain obvious!" Dean rolled his eyes. "Every road around here leads to town anyhow..."
"I told you we should invest in a sat nav..."
"WE don't need a sat nav Sammy, I know where we are..."
"Where are we then?" Dean looked round. "The school"
"You only know that because I told you."
"Bitch!"
"Jerk!" Sam choaked out with a laugh.
"That place looks even more depressing in day light." Dean said as they approached, Sam smirked again and allowed himself a low chuckle.
"Yeah it sure does." Sam checked the map for the next exit to go towards the sheriff's office.
"At least Bella made it here in that old peace a crap..." Sam looked to Dean then over at the school parking lot, his eyes went wide with sudden panic.
"DEAN LOOK OUT!" Dean swerved and hit the brakes just in time, a silver Volvo came flying out of the parking lot.
"SON OF A BITCH!" Dean hit the steering wheel with such force he hurt his palm, he starred after the car then threw the Impala into gear hit the gas and went after the Volvo.
"Dude! what the hell are you doing?"
"I'm gonna give that kid a damn driving lesson!"
"We're supposed to be going to the sheriff's office, Charlie will know who the car belongs to, we can get the kids address later." Dean shook his head, he was to pissed off to listen, seeing red he carried on, close behind the silver Volvo. They followed it out of town foot to the floor the whole time. Just as Dean thought they were close the Volvo suddenly turned into a cutting and disappeared up a wooded trail, Dean hit the brakes, reversed, turned the wheel and again hit the gas in hot pursuit.
