*Peter's pov*

Sophie and I arrive back at camp just in time to see The White Witch being carried up the pathway by her minions. Aslan is walking out of his tent to stand at the front and everyone is crowding around waiting to witness whatever is about to happen.
"Jadis, Queen of Narnia." the ugly little dwarf thing yells as the witch steps off of her 'chariot'.
"Aslan, you have a traitor in your midst." her voice is calm yet powerful, her words causing everyone to gasp.
"His offence was not against you." Aslan replies stiffly.
"Have you forgotten the deep magic?" she asks snidely.
"Do not cite the deep magic to me, Witch. I was there when it was written!" he snaps back angrily.
"Then you will know, that boy, belongs to me." she turns around to face the terrified crowd, and gestures towards Edmund, shouting, "that boy will die on the stone table."
"Try and take him then!" I yell, stepping forward, my sword held out towards the witch.
"Do you think that mere force, will deny my right... Little King?" she asks in a patronising manner.
I feel a hand on my arm pulling me back into the crowd and find myself being brought into Sophie's arms. She is hugging me from behind to keep me from going forward again. It makes me smile a little to realise she's there. I put my hands over hers in thanks and focus my attention back on the matter at hand.
"Enough, Witch. I will talk with you alone." Aslan says forcefully and the White Witch follows him into his tent.

A while later, they emerge from the tent. The White Witch, with a frown on her face, heads back to her 'chariot' and Aslan walks back to the front.
"She has denounced her claim on the son of Adam." he shouts for everyone to hear and the whole crowd bursts into a loud cheer.
The Witch turns around while stepping onto her 'chariot'.
"How will I know that your promise will be kept?" she asks.
Aslan doesn't respond, he just lets out a large, angry roar, causing everyone to gasp, even the White Witch who is thrown back into her seat.
Everyone laughs at the Witch while she orders her minions grumpily to take her home. Everyone goes back to cheering and celebrating as they get further and further away but from the corner of my eye, I see Aslan disappear back into his tent without another word. I turn around with a worried look on my face to see Sophie and Susan surrounding Edmund, hugging him in relief and it makes my heart melt. She is already like family to all of them and I can't wait until she, finally, is truly one of us. A Pevensie.

*Sophie's pov*

I awake to a rustle in the bushes outside our tent. I sit up, suddenly very alert. I can see that Susan and Lucy are both still asleep and that makes me very nervous. From across the tent I see that Lucy is starting to wake up. She groggily sits up, looking over at me and jumping when she sees that I'm awake.
"Sophie? What are you doing up?" she whispers quietly, but loud enough for me to hear, across the small tent, trying not to wake Susan.
Before I have the chance to reply, a shadow passing by the tent catches my attention. The shape of the shadow is a lion and by that I know it is Aslan.
"Lu, look." I whisper, pointing at it.
She turns around just in time to see it and then jumps out of bed. She grabs her shoes and coat.
"Come on, Sophie." She tells me before turning to shake Susan, "come on, Susan. Wake up!"
Susan jumps up.
"What? Lucy? What's-" she mumbles sleepily, obviously startled by being woken up so suddenly.
I cut her off by grabbing her arm and pulling her to follow Lucy. We follow Aslan as he walks through the forest.
It's not too long before we're finally caught by Aslan himself and he turns to us.
"Shouldn't you 3 be in bed?" he asks, his voice gruff and wise.
"We couldn't sleep." Lucy replies timidly.
"We were wondering if we could come with you?" Susan asks him quietly.
"I could do with the company." he replies letting us catch up to him before continuing to walk through the forest.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are still walking through the forest, when Aslan stops suddenly.
"It is time. From here, I must go alone. Thank you, Sophie, thank you, Susan and thank you, Lucy. And farewell." he says, then he continues to walk away from us.
We still follow him as he goes. Finally, we stop at a cliff place where we see the White Witch's army crowding in front of the stone table. Aslan is freely making his way up the cleared pathway and towards the Witch. It confuses all 3 of us when he willingly lets her handle him like a rag doll. Watching him let her minions cut off his mane and injure him is heartbreaking to watch.
"Why doesn't he fight back?" Lucy asks us desperately, trying not to cry at the sight of it all.
We watch with tears eyes as they strap him to the stone table and the Witch stabs him with her dagger. Lucy sobs into Susan's shoulder and we watch as the Witch and her army leave him there and go back to where they came from.
When they're gone, we run down to the stone table. Lucy tries to take out her healing potion but Susan tells her it's too late.
"He's gone, Lu." she says sadly causing Lucy to go into another fit of sobs. "We have to go. Come on."
"We can't just leave him here." Lucy sobs.
"I'll go back and tell the boys. You 2 stay here with Aslan." I tell them.
"Sophie, no, you can't go alone. What if they're still out there." Susan cries worriedly.
"I'll be fine, Su. Don't worry. Stay here and I'll tell the others." I say before turning and walking away, definitely not ready to tell the others that their beloved Aslan is dead but the courage will have to grow before I reach them. Oh dear, this is going to be a long night.
