*Sophie's pov*

I wake from a nightmare, quickly sitting up and heavily breathing. I try as hard as I can to stop being so loud, taking deep breaths and calming myself down. Once I'm calm, I look at the clock sitting on the table beside Susan. 03:23. I realise that I will not get back to sleep for a while so I creep out of bed, noticing on my way past that Lucy is gone. Maybe she went to the toilet.. I walk towards the toilet and I hear it flushing. I hide behind the door I'm at when I see Edmund appear out of the bathroom. So it isn't Lucy in the bathroom... Where is she? I see Edmund look straight ahead and a smirk appears on his face. I turn my head to where he's looking, just in time to see the back of Lucy disappear around the corner. She's heading towards the room with the wardrobe, I know it. Ed follows her and I decide to follow them too. I wait for a bit until Ed disappears around the corner, to make sure he doesn't see me, and then go.
When I get to the outside of the room, I quietly open the door and step inside. I carefully open the wardrobe, stepping inside that too. I push my way through the coats, knowing what happens and smile to myself when lots and lots of snow appears in my vision. Suddenly, I hear Ed's voice.
"Lucy? Lucy?"
I follow the direction of the voice and find him walking along in between the trees. I hear the sound of a sleigh and duck behind a tree to hide myself. I peek at what is happening and see Ed talking to a dwarf and then going to sit in the sleigh. I carefully move to behind a closer tree, to hear what they're saying. I can hear most of what they're saying.
"What is your name, son of Adam?" The witch asks Ed.
"E-Edmund" he stutters.
"And how is it, Edmund that you have come to be in my dominion?"
"Well I was following my sister. She said her and our friend came here earlier and met some faun named Tumnus."
"Did they now?" She asked sounding annoyed. "You say your sister and friend, how many of you are there?"
"Five."
"I'd love to see your family and your friend." A female voice tells Edmund.
I peek around quickly to see who it is and recognise her immediately as the White Witch that Mr Tumnus was talking about earlier and I have to hold in a gasp.
"Why? They're nothing special." Comes the reply of Edmund.
I frown at that because he completely disregarded everything I told him earlier.
"I have no children of my own, and you're such a good little boy. I could see you, maybe one day becoming prince of Narnia- maybe even king!" She tells him.
"Really?"
"Of course, you'd have to bring your family and this friend." She says.
Something about this seems fishy to me. She is very interested in all of us.
"Oh, Peter will be king too?" Ed asks, sounding disappointed.
"No, but a king needs servants." She replies.
"I-I guess I could bring them." He stutters again.
I don't stay to hear the rest of their conversation. I have to tell Mr Tumnus that she knows. I run back to the lamp post and to Mr Tumnus' house. When I get there, I knock so hard on the door, it hurts my hands. Mr Tumnus answers, looking very confused.
"Oh, hello, Sophie. You just missed Lucy. She was just here. Can I get you-"
"Mr Tumnus, there's no time. You have to get out of here! Run away to somewhere safe! Quickly come on."
"Sophie? Okay, okay, slow down. What's happening?" He questions, confused.
"The White Witch knows you hid Lucy and I. You have to hide and go somewhere safe."
"How does she know?" He sound surprised.
"Lucy's brother, my friend, let it slip. He met her in the woods and didn't know who she was. She asked why he was here and he mentioned Lucy and I meeting you earlier. Come on, you have to-"
I was cut of by a loud bang on the door.
"Sophie, hide!" He pulls back a chest of drawers and there is a hole in the wall, big enough to fit me in it. "Get in, quickly!"
I climb in and he places the drawers back over. I hear more bangs at the door before there is a super loud one and the sound of the door being broken off it's hinges.
I hear the footsteps of paws and then there is a lot of talking by the mutts. Then I hear Mr Tumnus let out a cry of pain and the footsteps fade away. I try to move the chest of drawers to the side but I'm unsuccessful. After a few more attempts I finally move it enough to squeeze out of the hole. When I look around, I see everything is a mess and Mr Tumnus is no where to be seen. I run out of the house, being careful not to be seen by any of the mutts that may still be lurking, and make it back to the lamp post. I run back through the opening of the wardrobe and hear an argument going on in Peter and Edmunds room.
"No I wasn't! I saw Mr Tumnus again too- and Edmund was there." I hear Lucy's voice as I walk up the hall towards the room.
"You saw the faun?" Peter asks Ed in a disbelieving tone.
"Well he didn't go to see Mr Tumnus with me but- wait, what were you doing, Edmund?" Lucy asks finally realising.
"I-I was just playing along. You know how little children are. They don't know when to stop pretending." Ed sneers.
At this point, I have entered the room and am standing just behind Edmund.
"You are such an arsehole, Edmund." I spit at him, "You and I both know you were there, having a conversation with the White Witch!"
At this statement, Lucy lets out a horrified gasp.
"Huh? Who's the Wh-" Peter starts but is cut off by Ed.
"You know, Sophie, don't you think you're a little old for all these games? Maybe you should grow up and stop acting like a stupid, pathetic, little bit-"
He doesn't finish because I slap him hard across the face. I put my hand over my mouth and gasp.
"Ed, I'm so sorry! Oh my god!" I cry, tears streaming down my face and I run out of the room before any of them have a chance to react.
I run down the hall, sobs escaping my mouth and I run into something hard. I look up and see it's the professor.
"I'm very sorry, sir. Forgive me. I should have been watching where I was going and I-"
"It's alright, dear. Now, what's got you all upset?" He asks softly, bending down to my smallish height.
"It's nothing, sir. It won't happen again, goodnight." I say quickly, trying to avoid telling him.
I hear footsteps behind us and turn to see Peter, Susan and Lucy running down the hall. It breaks my heart seeing Lucy crying too. I can hear a fifth set of footsteps coming up the stairs and the angry voice of Mrs Macready booms out.
"You children are one shenanigan shy of sleeping in the stable- oh, hello, Professor. I told them you weren't to be disturbed."
She gives each of us a glare before turning back to the Professor with a smile.
"Oh, it's alright, Mrs Macready. I'm sure there's a logical explanation. But I think these 2 need a hot chocolate." He says gesturing to Lucy and I.
"Of course." She says, motioning us to follow her.

*Peter's pov*

I'm so angry at Edmund for saying those things to Sophie. I don't think anyone knew how to react to her slapping Ed. He didn't even know himself. Sophie has never been a violent person and all 4 of us know that it must have really hurt her for that to happen. None of us move as she runs out the door, we're too shocked. It takes a couple of minutes for me to snap out of it and I run out of the room to find her pushing Edmund onto his bed on the way past. I hear my siblings footsteps behind me, them catching up and running beside me.
We only get just down the hall when we find her. In front of the professor, who is looking down at her with soft eyes. We hear Mrs Macready's voice and she is sent down to get hot chocolates for Lucy and Sophie.
"We are truly sorry, Professor. We don't know what's gotten into them lately." I say sadly, "It won't happen again. We promise."
"That's alright, boy. But whatever is the matter with them?" He asks curiously.
"They think they've found a different world in the wardrobe in one of your spare rooms, Sir." Susan tells him quietly.
"Do they really? What was it like?" He questions.
"Like talking to a lunatic.." Susan says strangely.
"Not the girls, I mean the world."
"You mean, you believe them?" I ask in disbelief.
"Don't you?" He asks gently.
"Well it's not really possible. Is it, Professor?" Susan asks.
"What do they teach you nowadays in schools?"
"Edmund said they were only pretending." I tell him.
"And he's usually the truthful one, is he?" He asks, raising his eyebrow.
He has a point here. When has Edmund ever been truthful lately. All he's been while we've been here is spiteful and selfish.
"Well no, but-" I say finally.
"Then if those girls aren't lying and aren't mad then logically they must be telling the truth. The smallest one is your sister isn't she? The bigger one your best friend, who's been around your whole life? You're a family. It's about time you started acting like one." He says and waves his hand dismissively, "Goodnight children, off to bed."
Then he disappeared own the stairs and Susan and I head back to our rooms without a word.
