I woke up and quickly turned off my alarm.  I looked at the time, 3:30am.  I grabbed a piece of paper that said; Dear mom, dad and Cheyenne, I have decided not to stay in the pack any more.  I am going far away from any other pack and becoming a rogue.  Please don't try to contact me or find me. Catherine.  I placed the note on my dresser and opened my window enough to get out.  Once I jumped out the window, I landed in a bush below.  I hissed as I emerged from the bush, covered in the twigs that stabbed me.

"Where are we going?" My cat asked.

"I don't know yet," I admitted, "but somewhere far away from pack territory."

I ran away from the house as fast as I could.  By the time I made it to the border, I was exhausted.  My head started to hurt and I realised Cheyenne was mind-linking me.

"Catherine!"

I growled, "I told you not to try and contact me!"

"But Cat," She whimpered, "why would you leave us?"

"You and mom wanted me to leave the pack anyway." I reminded her coldly.

"We wanted you to stay in another pack until we caught David!" She defended herself, "We didn't want you to go live like a rogue and possibly get killed!"

"I've made my decision." I said calmly, then did my best to shut her out.

The moon was still bright in the sky as I made my way through the forest.  I heard a growl behind me and turned slowly to see a white wolf.  I knew I couldn't outrun it or win in a battle, so I slowly surrendered.  What I realised about her though was that she looked familiar, and had a familiar scent, as if I've known her for so long.  She suddenly pounced and pinned me to the ground.

"What do you want with me?" I asked.

A grey wolf appeared behind her and snarled with hatred.  He smelled familiar too.  Then I realised their scents were definitely from my pack.

"Let me go!" I shouted.

That caused the white wolf to bite down on my shoulder.  I screamed in pain as I tried kicking her off, which only made her more angry.  She dug her claws into my arms as the grey wolf came over and watched me in pain.

"Let me take over." My cat ordered, "I can get us away."

"What if they catch you?" I protested.

"They won't." She promised.

Reluctantly, I let her take over.  I felt as we shifted into cat form and raced away from the two wolves. The grey one gave a deep growl as he chased us.  I heard teeth snapping as he tried to grab my cat's tail.  They were gaining on us, I knew any second they'd catch us, but my cat was quicker as she climbed an oak tree and scrambled up high enough so they couldn't reach us.

"Get down here!" As I heard the command through mind-link, I knew exactly who the white wolf was.

"Cheyenne!" I hissed.
