Chapter 3: Just an embarrassment

Ruby, Sapphire, Amethyst, Pearl and I walked out of the classroom, relieved that it was over.

"Let's see, we all have lunch now. Let's go?" Amethyst said.

"Yeah just let me get something. I think I forgot my keys on the desk." I said before opening the classroom door. As soon as I opened the door, I saw Peridot smack dab in the door way giving me a menacing glare.

"Where ya goin Peridork?" I asked while flicking her glasses.

She sucked her teeth, nudging my hand away from her face. "Somewhere away from you clods." She pushed me out of the way and I shrugged.

I walked in and went over to the desk where I was sitting. "There they are." My keys were on the floor and as I bent down to pick them up, I got up and turned away, seeing something scribbled into Jaspers desk.

It was in a sloppy black pen."(Y/n)" it said.

What...? What was MY name doing on JASPERS desk. It needed to be a coincidence. I took my finger and rubbed my name. The ink smudged. Fuck, it's fresh. Why would my name be there? Just why?

I shook myself out of it, denying and even trying to forget the fact that my name was embedded into the desk, so I just walked out of the classroom.

"Found your keys?" Ruby asked. They were all outside, waiting for me. They really are loyal friends.

"Yeah I got em." I looked around the hallway and saw La-bitch Lazu-whore. I mean Lapis... against the locker with Jasper pinned against her. She was giving light kisses on Lapis' ear and neck and it made me infuriated. A boiling hot sensation hit my face and suddenly I felt something hot beneath my feet. My feet are on fire.

"Holy shit! What the fuck, put it out!" I yelled.

All of the gems panicked and started yelling and running around the hall.

"Shit!" Ruby screamed.

"Gah! Be carefu! Put it out!" Pearl yelled while shielding herself behind Amethyst.

"Ruby do something!" Amethyst panicked.

"Oh dear..." Sapphire said quietly.

I saw Jasper curiously peer over and Lapis was laughing her tiny blue ass off. She wouldn't be laughing if I kicked my firey boot up her ass.

Ruby took her jacket off and patted my feet aggressively with it.

"What in the name of Homeworld was that?" Pearl asked extremely confused.

"I honestly have no fucking clue but I don't like it." I said while rubbing my sore and burnt ankles and shin.

"I think I know what it is..." Sapphire said.

"I think I do too." Ruby put on her now burnt jacket and leaned against the wall.

"You know how different reactions are for different gems. Like when it comes to elements. When Ruby gets too excited or angry, she starts burning up, just like you. And with me, if my emotions are overboard, I freeze whatever is around me, including myself and the temperature drops."

I nodded to what Sapphire was saying. I actually was understanding quite well.

"You're a fire gem just like me!" Ruby said excitedly.
