Chapter 8: Just Friends?

Jaspers POV
(Y/N)'s eyes blanked out and rolled to the back of her head and her head viciously twisted to the right. You can hear the flesh against flesh contact of my fist on her face.

I panicked so much, I couldn't even believe that I hit her. Pearl, Ruby and Sapphire were all panicking as Amethyst stood back, staring at me.

I quickly knelt down, scooping her up in my arms as she laid limp in my grasp.

"It's your fault Amethyst!" I spat out while looking up at the purple gem.

"My fault? How the hell is it my fault?!" She crossed her arms and circled around to where Pearl was.

"You provoked me! Saying all of those things you runt! You know that I have a huge temper!" I got back up and rushed my way toward the hallway as the rest followed.

"Jasper where are you taking her?!" Pearl asked frantically"

"To the living room. Now leave me be, I have an idea to wake her up." I turned the corner to where Pearls living room was and gently placed (Y/N) on Pearls black leather couch.

Pearl continued following and I got angry. "But-"

"I SAID LEAVE ME BE!" The gem on my nose glowed as I became filled with worry and anger. Pearl looked at me with slight pity and smiled. She nodded and then turned around as she ushered the others back to her room.

I sat next to (Y/N) on the couch, just on the ledge of where she was laying. I moved the hair out of her face with my finger and it lightly trailed over her soft velvety skin.

She stirred a bit in her unconscious state and it alarmed me and I backed off a bit. She was...beautiful when she was asleep. Her cheek was red from my hit and started to form a slight purple around the middle.

I brought my hand close to her face and lightly traced my thumb on the small bruise. She was very warm. And she didn't seem like she was unconscious at all. She literally looked like she was taking a nap.

"(Y/N) wake up..." I softly said before lightly slapping her unharmed cheek. I tried slapping her again but none prevailed. "(Y/N).." I whispered.

Then I suddenly had an idea.

I got closer and closer to (Y/N), inching and leaning closer to her face. My palm was resting on her cheek, and her lips slightly apart. I could feel her warm breath tickling my gem slightly and I grinned at this. Her gem suddenly started to illuminate from my football jersey. It grew a dark red light and grew brighter whenever I touched her.

"Jasper this is wrong..." I said to myself. "You have Lapis-" I stopped myself. I suddenly thought of this chick who I think betrayed me. It got me angry and I backed away from (Y/N). She sleepily sighed and rolled over.

I dug into my pocket and took my phone out. More missed calls from Lapis along with text messages.

Lapis: hey, sorry about that, coach Sugilite just wanted to talk, no big deal <3
Lapis: Jasper?
Lapis: is it cuz she called me baby?
Lapis: Jasper!
Lapis: answer me!

There were more messages after that. So many, I didn't even bother to read them. So I just stuck the phone back in my pocket and started walking to the bathroom to get a wet towel for (Y/N). As I turned the corner, Amethyst was there with her arms crossed and a suspicious look on her face.

"What was that all about?" She said in a conspicuous tone.

"What was what?" I blandly said while brushing past her and into the bathroom.
