"Whoah!" I heard someone say loudly. I opened my eyes slowly, sitting up so I could see who had woken me up. Xigbar stared at me, wide-eyed and slightly confused. "Uh, sorry man. Din't mean to... uh... Intrude" he said, clearing his throat.

I blinked at him, confused as to what he was talking about. I raised one eyebrow and cocked my head to the side, like a confused dog would. "Um..." he mumbled nodding at the bed. I followed his line of sight, my eyes widening a little in realization of what he was looking at. "Oh, uh, yeah... would you mind leaving the room so we can get dressed?" I said embarrassed, giving him a sheepish smile. "Yeaaaahhh..." he said, drawing it out as he backed up awkwardly and shut the bedroom door.

"Yo, Roxas. Get up. I hate to say so, but we've got work to do." I said, shaking him awake, slipping on my boxers, then my pants. "Huh?" He said, sitting up slowly and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "It's a new day. Get up and face it!" I said, fixing my hair then slipping my cloak on. I tossed some clothes on my bed for Roxas to get dressed in.

"M'kay..." he said groggily, flipping the covers back, a confused look crossing his face. "Wait.... what?!" He asked, seeing how he was naked. "Uh... yeah. That was my initial reaction too. But, hey, remember what happened last night other than the sex?" I reminded him, walking over and kissing him on the lips passionately, then walking to the door. "I'm gonna wait for you downstairs. Hurry and get ready." I said, walking through and shutting the door behind me. I leaned back against the door and sighed, my heart pounding intensely. I would probably never get used to kissing Roxas so casually.

"Alright, so...." I said, looking around at my group. "Psst! Axel!" Xigbar whispered in my ear so the others couldn't hear. "What?" I whispered back. "I just wanted to let you know I didn't tell Demyx. He'd just be a blabber mouth and most likely tarnish your name throughout the whole Organization so..." he whispered. "Yeah, thanks." I whispered, leaning back up.

"So, what's our mission today?" Demyx asked me, eyes wide with his childish excitement. "Uh... Well... I don't really have a plan so... How about we split up and look for signs of the heartless?" I asked, making it up as I went along. "I get Xiggy!" Demyx shouted, exited for work as usual... How does that kid get so much energy this early in the morning?

"Okay, I guess that means just you and me, Roxas." I said, turning to him with a smile on my face.

We walked through the town, randomly searching for signs of the heartless. "Hey, Axel?" Roxas whisered, looking down so I couldn't see his face. "Yeah?" I asked, waiting for his answer. "We... we need to talk about something..." he said quietly, still hiding his face.

My heart dropped, hoping it wouldn't be anything bad. By the tone in his voice, it sounded like bad news.

"Uh, let's go somewhere a little more private first though." he said, looking forward. "Okay?" I said, worried and slightly confused.

He lead me to the top of a large building, isloated and out of earshot of anyone else. "Well... um, I'm not really sure how to say it, but..." Roxas began quietly, looking back down at his feet. I looked at him, anticipating for him to drop a bomb on me at any time.

"I've been thinking it over quite a bit, and..." he said then sighed, looking back up at me with sadness in his eyes. "I think we should stay friends." he said quickly, rushing it out so he wouldn't change his mind last minute. "W-what? Roxas, I-" I began, but shut my mouth before I had time to make a fool out of myself.

"I'm reaaally sorry, Axel. But I've been thinking it over and... well, I kinda regret what happened between us. I feel like it would ruin our friendship. So I want us to stay just friends." he explained, and this time it was me who looked down, hiding my face from him as tears swelled up in my eyes.

"O-okay." I said, squeezing my eyes shut tightly so my tears couldn't escape. "I understand." I said, clenching my jaw tight, fighting myself over what to say. Part of me wanted to scream no, but the other part of me wanted only what would make Roxas happy. Every moment I was deciding what side to choose felt like hours ticking by.

Roxas sighed and walked towards me slightly. "I can see you're upset and I really am sorry, Axel. I- I just don't want to ruin our friendship. I'll give you a little alone time to think, or something." he whispered guiltily, brushing our shoulders slightly as he walked past me and down off the roof.

I looked up and let the tears fall, wetting my shirt. I sat where I was and stared up at the sky. Was this really as far as Roxas and I would go? "I really do love him, though" I thought aloud, falling back flat and letting my crying out.

Is this really what Roxas wanted?
