The crew of Ares 3 sat silently in the MAV. They were trying to get off of Mars after a strong sandstorm hit the planet. They had lost communications with two members of their crew - Mark Watney and Connie Murphy. The other 5 members of the crew, Martinez, Lewis, Vogel, Beck, and Johansen, sat quietly staring at each other. They all had decided that they were dead. Lewis was silently blaming herself for the loss of the other two. Two of the members of her crew were dead, or so she thought.
