Chapter 18 (part 3)

I looked at Lance’s expression, trying to find any hint that he was joking but there was no mischievous twinkle in his eye like there usually was, he was being serious, deadly serious, I backed up and felt my legs go from underneath me, before I knew it Kali was by my side “what has this got to do with me though” I mostly muttered to myself

“Taylor, you’re the whole reason this war is about to happen, there are people out there that wouldn’t want you uniting all those who are not human or want to see you ascend to power, which you will do, especially now, in honesty it comes down to change, they want things to stay as they are or at least don’t want you causing things to change out of there control, these people have been trying to take control of all the different packs and clouders and whatever else they can by force, then you come along and do just that without having to force anything, there obviously not going to be happy, I just never thought the shadows would get involved, whatever or whoever is behind all this must be either extremely powerful or extremely influential, the shadows are a very selfish race, they generally keep themselves to themselves unless it benefits them to do otherwise” Lance trailed off into his own thoughts as I sat trying to digest what he had just said, he had basically just accused me of starting a war, of putting all those I hold dear to me in danger, before I knew what was happening I was on my feet walking away, nobody stopped me or came after me, I walked passed everyone unencumbered straight into the woods, it was like my body was deciding to do things on its own while my brain was otherwise occupied, I didn’t even realize that I’d started running until I slowed to a stop, panting loudly I looked around, I recognized where I was immediately, I was by the stone I had sat on to draw the first time I’d come to the woods, walking over to it I sat down and hung my head trying to catch my breath, a twig snapping caught my attention and my head snapped up only to come face to face with those liquid green eyes that shone so brightly in the dark

I know it's short but I thought I owed you guys this much, my laptop broke so this is the first time I've actually been able to write anything, think it's going to be a while before the next chapters up because I'm aiming to finish the book :)
