I was sat in my room looking at the rain pattering against my window, I sighed, I had been hoping to go out and see amber and Joe, we where going to go to the beach but that had been put on hold until the rain stopped, I got up out of my chair and almost instantly doubled over in pain, the pain started from my knees and spread upwards and downwards instantaneously, I sunk to the floor breathing hard but as soon as the pain had started it faded to a dull ache that settled into my bones, still breathing hard I got up off the floor and made my way downstairs, Lance had gone out to meet with a friend form town, dad was at work and mum was out shopping so the house was empty, I couldn’t focus on anything but the ache, I just wanted to get rid of it, I walked out of the front door without locking it and made my way to the field, not caring that I was getting soaked through by the rain, I was close to the edge of the woods when the pain flared up again, this time a lot worse, my knees buckled and I curled up into a ball in the long grass of the field, the only time I moved for a while was to throw up, I laid for what seemed like forever as the pain softly soothed the burning sensation that had started in my skin, it felt like every part of my being was slowly ripping itself apart, eventually the pain subsided and I could sit up, I didn’t dare move in case the pain started up again so instead I just sat taking deep breaths, after a while I heard Lance calling my name, I knew I had to get up or he would start panicking.
I managed to get back to the house after painstakingly walking through the long grass of the field, Lance was stood at the front door of the house with his phone in his hand, after spotting me he quickly stuffed it into his pocket and walked over to help me hobble into the house, after getting me onto the sofa kneeled on the floor next to me “are you alright kitten?” he asked in a worried voice
“Not really, no, I feel like I’m being ripped apart” I told him through clenched teeth
“something’s not right, it shouldn’t be happening this quickly, your body’s supposed to chance gradually over a few months, not in the space of a few days” he sounded panicked, which intern made me panic, Lance was the level headed sort of guy who did things rationally, at the minute he was passing around the front room rapidly tapping away on his phone, as soon as it started ringing he left the room, I laid on the sofa straining to hear what he who he was talking to but apparently he had gone far enough away from me that even with my advanced hearing I couldn’t eavesdrop on his conversation, instead I concentrated on the ceiling and tried to make the pain subside, it wasn’t as crippling as it was earlier but it was still enough that I could hardly breath without wincing in pain, Lance came back into the room after a while and kneeled back down next to me “don’t worry someone’s on there way to try and figure this out and hopefully help you with the pain, just try to relax for now, I don’t know how long it’ll take them to get here” he said in a soothing voice, I didn’t trust my voice at the minute so just nodded my understanding, Lance maid his way over to the chair in the corner of the room and sat down, I turned over onto my side and snuggled into the back of the sofa like I used to do when I was younger and was ill, after a while I felt myself start to drifted into and uneasy sleep.
