The car ride was silent, we both didn't know what to say. The driver put the radio on a few minutes ago, but a quiet volume. I looked out the window, focusing on the trees we past. The leather seats smelled of oil and man's cologne.
"So how are you?" Derek asked suddenly. I looked at him.
"Fine, you?" I asked.
"Great." He said with a monotone and fake smile. Silence once again consumed the limo.
"You're really bad at making conversation." I said with a laugh. He smiled.
"What do you want me to say?" He asked. I shrugged.
"Something that's not so cliché I guess." I answered as he pulled me on his lap.
"But I want our love to be cliché, babe." He murmured in my ear. I pushed off of him.
"You ruined that when you kidnapped me, forced me to marry you, and then punish your brother for being with me." I said, not looking at him.
"Do not start a fight that you can’t win." He growled angrily.
"How cant I win this one? I’m saying facts." I spat.
"No, you're accusing me of things that you do not want, only because I want them." He accused. I gaped at him.
"Then tell me what you did to me!" I raised my voice.
"I excused you from your home to spend eternity with me and when I found out about your selfish affair with my brother, I handled things the way they should have been handled." He spat the word affair as if it was acid on his tongue. I glared at him and went to the other side of the limo, pulling my feet to my chest and looking out the window. I closed my eyes after I felt burning in my chest.
"Stop pressing that damn button!!!" I yelled at him once it got worse.
"Don't yell at me!" He growled. I raised my hands and slapped them on the seat.
"Driver! Unlock the doors!" I yelled.
"Do not! She is not capable of giving orders!" He demanded the driver. I tried opening the door to find it was still locked. I rolled my eyes and elbowed the glass, making it shatter but not harm me. Climbing out of the window, Derek grabbed my foot.
"Where are you going?!" He demanded.
"Away from you." I kicked him, climbing the rest of the way out the window and onto the road. The car sped away, leaving Derek yelling to stop the car. I started running.
Xander's POV:
I sat on my bed, waiting for something. Anything, to come from Jaz. A text, a call, anything. Since her and Derek left 10 minutes ago, I've felt like shit. When I told her we couldn't be together, I didn't know it would affect her so much that when I say even one word she would start crying.
"Zander?" Sam called, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah?" I said.
"You okay?"
"Pfft, yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked.
"Because you keep looking at your phone like you gave birth to it." He said and I breathed a laugh.
"Funny." I said softly. He walked over to me and sat on the bed.
"Bro, what's up?" He asked.
"I feel terrible. I shouldn't have broken her heart. But.....I had to!" I explained.
"You did the right thing. You're a dangerous aspect for her. She doesn’t understand." He said. I thought about it. He was right. But...maybe I could have controlled myself, not kill her. But she would get scared if I lost control and someone had to stop me. I would emotionally damage her.....but that would only be if we had gotten into a fight, which we hadn’t yet.
Why am I thinking so much into this. Usually I would just let them go...but there's something special about her. Something different.
"I know what I need to do." I said determined. He looked at me questionably.
"I need to tell her I love her." I said.
