(Mabel's pov)

"Well if we're going to be stuck here for a while, we might as well set up camp." I said.

"We shouldn't go too far." Bill said. "If that portal is coming my guess is that it'll be where it dumped us."

"Yeah, that's true." I nodded.

"I'll find supplies while you stay here." Bill said.

"Why can't I help?" I crossed my arms.

"I don't want to lose our spot." Bill answered.

I pulled my sweater off, showing my purple t-shirt. I placed the sweater on the ground. "Now we know where we're at. I'm helping."

"Fine." Bill rolled his eyes. "But you're coming with me."

"Wouldn't it be easier to split up?" I asked.

"I'm just saying," Bill shrugged, "if you get lost you won't know how to return to the camp spot."

"What if you get lost?" I asked.

"That's what I'm saying. If we get lost together at least we'll have each other and we can figure it out together." Bill explained.

"I guess that does make sense..." I said. "Fine il come with you."

Bill smiled. "Let's go."

We walked together away from the camp sight and looked around for any sight of food or shelter or anything.

After about an hour of walking, I collapsed. "I need to rest. There's nothing out here, Bill. We haven't seen a speck of food yet."

Bill stopped and looked at me. "Aw come on, I think I see some berry trees ahead. You've only been walking for an hour."

"Yeah. That's exhausting for me." I said.

"Come on, Shooting Star." Bill said. "You can't be tired now. If you're tired now, you won't survive here."

That made me mad. I stood up and glared, "I don't know if you've noticed, but I've survived some crazy things."

"Yes I have seen that." Bill nodded.

I sighed. "So where are those trees at?"

Bill pointed ahead. "Straight ahead. Can't you see them?"

The trees seemed so far away. "I can't walk that far."

Bill sighed. "I'm going to those trees whether you're coming or not."

"I thought we have to stick together." I asked.

"You either have two choices if you don't wanna walk." Bill smiled. "You can crawl to those trees, or you let me carry you to them."
