(Mabel's pov)

I woke up still cradled in Bill's chest. He was sound asleep. He looked so cute when he's sleeping. I had to stretch my legs. I crawl out of Bill's grasp, which woke him up.

"Good morning." I smiled.

He blinked and then smiled. "Morning."

I yawned, stretching my arms into the air and then releasing them. "I feel like that's the most sleep I've ever gotten here."

Bill laughed. "Me too."

I nuzzled my head into his shoulder, he held me close.

"What are we going to do today?" I asked.

"I don't know." Bill said. "We usually have to go for food but now we have trees right outside the cave."

"That's really nice." I nodded.

"So we have the day to ourselves." Bill said. "We can do whatever we want to do."

"I really need to wash my hair." I said, lifting my head up. "It's disgusting."

"But it still looks cute on you." Bill smiled.

"You don't have to lie to me." I said. "I know it looks awful."

"Well there's a river over there." Bill pointed. "Do whatever you want."

"I'm going to go wash it." I stood up. "It'll feel nice."

"I'll fix up some decent breakfast." Bill said.

"Decent breakfast?"

"Yeah, I'm going to try to make a breakfast rather than just one fruit." Bill said.

"Ok then." I chuckled.

I walked outside and headed toward the river. I kneeled down and flipped my hair over, dunking it in the water. It felt better already.

I tried my best to get the dirt and grass out of my hair and I managed to get most of the tangles out of it too.

I lifted my hair up and squeezed the dripping water from it. Then I stared into the water and without thinking I dipped my whole head in it.

It was so cold. And it felt nice. Even though the temperature here was comfortable, there's this sweet sensation I can't explain with this water.

I lifted my head up from the water and wiped my face with my sweater. As I wiped my face with my sleeve, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A figure. A shadow. Bill was in the cave, so who was it? It disappeared from the top of the hill. Were my eyes playing tricks on me?

I stood up and walked to the cave, where I saw Bill was setting up different kinds of fruit onto his clean jacket.

He looked up at me and smiled. "How was the water?"

I smiled. "It was awesome."

"Great."

I took a spot next to him and I was starting to worry about the figure. "Bill?"

"Yes?" He looked at the fruit.

"While I was out there, I saw a shadow of a figure in the corner of my eye. When I looked to see it, it was gone."

Bill stopped fiddling with the fruit and looked at me. "Really?"

I nodded. "Do you think my eyes were playing tricks on me?"

"That's a possibility." Bill said. "But that also sounds creepy. Like someone is watching us."

"Maybe the figure is friendly." I tried to have a positive attitude.

"Let's not worry about it." Bill said. "If you see it again, let me know. But for now, I think it was just an illusion."

I chuckled. "Reality is an illusion."
