Alone

Crawl or be carried? Well I don't wanna crawl in the dirt and gross ground...

"Carry me." I answered.

I lifted my arms as Bill dived down and scooped me up.

"Am I too heavy?" I laughed.

"No." He laughed. "You're light."

As Bill started walking to the trees, I felt my eyes grow very tired from the exhaustion and the overwhelming atmosphere.

'I'll just close them for a minute' I thought.

I closed my eyes and before I knew it, I woke up at the camp sight, where Bill was found sorting berries.

"Good afternoon, Shooting Star." He smiled.

"Woah." I sat up. "How long was I asleep?"

"About an hour and a half." Bill replied.

"Wow." I rubbed my eyes. "I've never taken a nap that long!"

"Well now you have!" Bill laughed. "I knew you fell asleep before we got to the trees, so I was careful not to wake you up."

"You carried me all the way back?" I gasped.

"Yeah." Bill shrugged.

"Bill, you should've just woke me up." I sighed.

"It was no big deal, Shooting Star." Bill shrugged. "I know today must've been a long day for you."

"Sorry I couldn't help with the food..." I frowned.

"It's ok," Bill said, "you can help me for the next load of food."

"Wait..." I said, "each time we have to get food it'll take an hour?"

"Well there has to be other trees out there." Bill said. "Next time we'll head that way." He pointed to the opposite direction of the original path.

"Seems fair." I nodded. "How long do you think we'll be here?"

"I have no clue." Bill sighed. "So we have to be prepared for anything."

"Does anyone live on this planet?" I asked.

"Not that I know of." Bill shook his head. "The book said that no demon or human or any organism was born here."

"So what you're saying is...we're the only two humans on this planet?"

Bill nodded. "Well...demon and human. But yes, it's just us, all alone."
