~The Next Day~

(Y/n)'s POV
I was at school and it was lunchtime. I stood behind the school building, smoking a cigarette. I sucked air from the nicotine paper and slightly lifting my head up as I took it away from my lips. Blowing out perfect smoke rings. I leaned against the wall; my left foot on the wall as the other slanted out. My hand jammed in my black leather jacket pocket and the other holding a cigarette between my index and middle fingers. I looked around from where I stood at times to make sure there were no teachers around. I smirked and continue to smoke. After a few quiet minutes, I hear the sounds of footsteps. I looked in the direction the footsteps were coming from. Around the corner came someone all too familiar,"Hey, Ponyboy."
"Hey, (Y/n). Came out for a smoke too?" He asks taking a box of cigarettes out of his black leather jacket pocket.
"Sure damn right you are." I say with my cigarette between my lips. Ponyboy takes a cigarette out of the box. He digs and pats around his pockets.
"Shoot. I forgot my matches." He mumbles. I go through my pocket and pulled out a small silver lighter.
"Here. Use my lighter." I toss him the lighter. He catches it, flipping the cap off and igniting his cigarette and putting the box of cigarettes back in his pocket. He closes the cap of the lighter and tosses it back to me, I catch it and put in my pocket.
"Thanks." He says with the cigarette between his lips before taking it out and blowing out smoke.
"No problem." I say with the cigarette my teeth and smoke lingered out of my mouth.
"I know this question might be out of the blue but how old are you?" He asks.
"I just turned seventeen. How about you?"
"I'm fourteen." He says like it's nothing.
"Boy howdy! Fourteen?" I asked with my eyes slightly wide.
"Yep. But it ain't a big deal really..." He shrugs blowing out some smoke rings.
"Ain't a big d-! Boy! You're fourteen! And you're in high school. Skip grades or somethin'?" I ask sucking some air on my cigarette and blowing out smoke.
"Yeah. I'm that smart." He says with some pride in his voice.
"Wow... So are you the only one out of your brothers?" I ask with curiosity.
"No. Soda and Darry are smart too. Soda just dropped out because he found it boring and Darry never made it into college."
"Ah. I see." I nod. After a few minutes of silence, Pony breaks it.
"So do you like it here?"
"Yeah. Cool people I guess." I shrug. I take another drag of my cigarette and blew out some smoke rings. Pony does the same.
"Do you like anyone here in Tulsa?" Pony asks looking at me. I look at him with my eyes slightly wide.
"Like? As in... More than a friend like?" I blush slightly.
"Yeah. What else could I have meant?"
"I-I don't know..." I shrug and look at the ground,"Like who specifically?"
"Oh I don't know... My older brother and... I guess Dally?" He looks at me, scratching the nape of his neck. I blush slightly.
     "They're okay I guess..."
" 'Okay' as in...?" He looks at me intently.
"How much do you need to know?"
"Enough to fill my curiosity." Was all he said. I sigh and look away towards the ground. I bring my gaze up to straight ahead.
"Well, they're lookers to the eyes of broads. Charming. Mostly what any gal might say about them." I shrug.
"But what do you think of them? I don't want to hear what other broads might see them as. I just want to know of your opinion."
"Well, I haven't known them for that long to actually do that. But I'll tell you what I think of them so far."
"Shoot."
"They're cold in someways I can't explain. Especially your brother, Darry. He has that look in his eyes that show a stone and cold heart."
"Yeah. He has that thing." Pony says rubbing the nape of his neck.
"But there's something else about him. I don't know what. But for some reason... I feel like he has more than just cold and harsh. I feel like he has a small soft side."
"He also has that kind of thing. He just doesn't show it that much. Not since our parents died he didn't." Pony says quietly. I look at him.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. They died awhile ago... Just keep going on your opinions."
I look at him sadly before continuing,"So... Yeah... Darry seems like he has a big heart than how other thinks he has."
"And what about Dally?" I let out a little laugh as I took a drag of the cigarette.
"A charmer too. He seems like this 'bad boy' type. But a gentleman in a way." Pony chuckles slightly.
"Yeah... That's it?"
"No. Not really." Smoke lingered out of my mouth,"He's... Besides like a gentleman, he also seems like the guy who can kinda be a softie once you get to know him more. I don't know...." I shrug as I take the cigarette out from between my lips and flocking it to the ground before stepping on it,"They both seem that way. Cold, strong... It's hard to explain."
"I see..." Pony nods and flicks out his cigarette, doing what I did. I sigh.
"Is that all, Pony?" I look at him. He looks at me, with a slight smirk.
"Yeah. That's all I needed to know." I smirk slightly as well. Soon the bell rang, signaling lunch was over. "Well, I guess I'll see you later."
"Yeah. Oh and before I forget." I look at him. "The guys are going to my house after school. If you want you can come over." I smile slightly at him.
"Sure, why not?" He smiles slightly.
"Great. See ya then." He says walking off. I walk off as well but in a different direction.
     "Yeah. See ya."
{Time Skip}
School ended and I walked over to my motorbike. Helmet in hand and book bag on. I sit down on my and before I put my helmet on, at the corner of my eye is a red Mustang. Six Socs. Three of them, guys. The other three are their broads. I keep my distance and mind my own business. I guess they saw me cause I hear their voices of snickering, laughter, and footsteps coming closer.
"Hey, Greaser." A Soc says in a sneer.
"Whatcha doin' there? Huh?" Another says. They start to slowly circle me. I feel their eyes boring through me. They were like vultures, circling around their prey. I scowl slightly as I don't look at them directly.
"Leavin'." I simply say with a shrug. My voice cool and monotonous. I start up my Black Beaut as she hummed lowly.
"That's some bike." One of the Soc's broads says,"That important to you?" She snickers and so does the others. I knew where they were getting to. And I was not gonna let that happen.
"Yeah. She is. And please, she's a look but do not touch. You can touch each other all you want. But not my bike. Thanks." I say smirking slightly. They scoff. "Now, if you excuse me." I slip on my helmet,"I must be elsewhere. See ya!" I say as I turned the acceleration handle making her growl loudly, VROOOOOM! I immediately turn, creating smoke and a speeding off. I smirk as I hear the Socs behind me coughing and cussing me out as the smoke settled. I laugh quietly and sped off. After about ten minutes, I finally get to Ponyboy's place. I turn the engine off and stepped off my bike. I see the guys arrive and I smile slightly,"Hey, guys." I greet.
"Hey, (Y/n)." Pony greets as well. I take my helmet off and shake my head as I let my (h/c) hair free. I look to see that Johnny, Dally, and Two-Bit were with Ponyboy.
     "Hey, (Y/n)...." Johnny says quietly.
"Heya, granny." Two-Bit jokes smirking. I laugh slightly as I playfully punched his shoulder.
"(Y/n), babe." Dally says smirking at me as walked over to me and slung an arm around my shoulder and pulled me close. A cigarette balanced between his lips that was in a flirtatious smirk,"Hey there." A light blush creeps onto my cheeks.
"Hey, Dally..." I laugh a little at this and slipped off my leather gloves.
"You sure look like a doll." He says as he gave my cheek a poke. I smile slightly as I slapped his hand away.
     "As if".
"But you do! Here." He says as he puts his index fingers on both corners of my mouth and lifting it up into a cheeky grin,"Guys, don't she look like a doll?"
"Ah not really." Two-Bit says,"She was. But now she looks like that creepy girl down the street." He laughs and so does Dally. Pony laughs slightly and Johnny lets out a small chuckle. I laugh a little and playfully placed my hand on Dally's chest. He looks at me confusingly as he blushed a tad bit. I smirk as I playfully pushed him away. He chuckles lightly.
"C'mon. Let's go inside already." Pony says with his hands jammed into his pockets and he walked to his house and up onto the porch. We followed him inside of his home. We all settled down as I looked around.
"So where's Steve, Darry, and Soda?" I ask looking around as I went into the living room with the guys.
"Oh they're at work." Pony says,"Won't be home until like 5 or somethin'."
"Ah, I see." I nod and sat down on the couch. Dally walks over to me and slumps down beside me. He "stretches" his arms out and puts an arm around my shoulder. I blush a little. Johnny sat on the other side next to me. "Dally?"
"Yes, doll?" Dally asks lowly with a flirtatious smirk. I blush a bit more.
"Why's your arm around me like that?"
"Just to get a little closer..." He mumbles almost huskily as he scooted a bit closer causing me to blush a little more.
"Why is that?" I ask in an almost hushed whisper with a slight smirk. He also smirks slightly as he chuckled lightly.
"What's wrong with being close to each other, doll?" Dally whispers lowly and huskily, he pulls me closer to him in the process. I giggle slightly as some more blush creeped across my cheeks. I don't notice the other guys looking at us. Johnny probably never felt so uncomfortable in his entire life as he slowly got up from his seat and off the couch. Two-Bit chuckles a bit and Ponyboy watches with his eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"There's nothing wrong with sitting close to one another, Dally." I say with a shrug and a slight smirk. He smirks even more as he pulled me even closer to him so that our bodies were in contact. I blushed some more.
"Then you wouldn't mind bein' this close, right?"He asks as he slowly leaned his face towards mine. I shake my head, blushing even more when he moves his face closer to mine.
"N-No. No not at all..." I stutter slightly, I curse in my mind for doing that. I could feel his hot breath trickle against my lips, making me blush even more than I should be. He smirks.
"Good..." Before our lips come in contact, Ponboy breaks it.
"A'ight, you two. No need to get lovey dovey here." He says crossing his arms. Johnny shakes his head slightly as Two-Bit laughed a little.
"Oh come on, Pony! They were about to get to the best part!" I blush. Pony rolls his eyes slightly.
"Not in my house they won't."
"Not in OUR house they won't." Says a deep and monotonous voice. We look at the doorway to see the source of the voice coming from no other than Darry. Who stood there with his arms crossed. With Sodapop and Steve stand behind him. When I look at Darry, his eyes were nothing but cold as stone. But they were even more cold than how they're used to be.
