"Ready or not, here I come!" You silently yelled, uncovering your eyes. You were in the woods near the Human village playing hide and go seek with your friend. You were always told not to go in the woods because of the monsters that lurked in them. But your friend said it would be alright as long as you don't tell the meanie old grownups and stay quiet while in the forest.

        You looked behind every tree, bush, and you even looked under rocks, but your friend was no where to be found.He did say she was a expert at this game, but so was you. You weren't giving up this easily.

        You looked up towards the sky, it had a redish-orange tint to it. Indicating that sunset was approaching. You had to hurry up and find your friend and return home or your mother would start worrying about you.

        "Axl! Where are you..." The creepy sounds and eeriness of the forest was starting to get to you. Sure, you were a tough kid, but this was over doing it.

        As you continued searching, a thought crossed your mind. What if something happened to Axl? Did one of the monsters get him? You looked around frantically for your friend, you were becoming terrified at this point.

        "Axl....Please come out now, I'm starting to get scared..." Tears started swelling up in your eyes, you weren't used to be alone this long.

        Some leaves crunched behind you and your heart almost jumped out of your chest. You quickly turned to face behind you and saw a bush rattling. You sighed in relief, all fear from earlier gone out of your system.

        "Found you..." You whispered as a smirk appeared on your face. You began slowly walking to the bush, figuring that it was where Axl was hiding. Oh how wrong you were.

        Your eyes widened in shock, smirk wiped from your face, as some sort of human-dog like creature jumped from the bushes. Growling, it began slowly walking to you. With each step it took towards you, you took one step back. It wasn't before to long you felt a tree at your back, it had cornered you. Tears blinded your vision as the monster got closer to you, getting ready to pounce.

        You closed your eyes as it jumped towards you. You waited for what seemed like eternity, but it never came. You cautiously opened one eye, your heart was instantly lighted up by who was standing before you. It was Axl. He had the same dreamy-like smile on his face like he always has.He had both of his hands gripped onto the monster and carelessly threw it at the nearest tree, letting out a painful yelp as it made contact. It stopped moving.

        Axl then turned to face you, the same smile still plastered on her face. With tears still in your eyes, ran up to him and buried your face in his armor.

        "There's no more need to cry (Y/N)-chan! That doggie won't bother you no more! I made sure of that!" He said, patting your head, but his words wasn't enough to comfort you.

        "Y-You promise...?" You asked while you wiped the tears from your eyes, your voice still a bit shaky. He giggled and held out his pinkie. A small smile appeared on your lips as you entwined your pinkie with his.

        "I promise! Now  lets hurry up and get you home or your mom won't be a happy-hippo!" He always knew how to lighten the mood. He offered you his hand and you accepted. Axl was the best friend  you could ever ask for.
