An inky black night, the moon and the stars playing a game of hide and seek with the huge clouds that traversed the night sky.A quiet peaceful atmosphere, the night gentle and calm.But Clarie couldn't sleep, couldn't sink into the realm of dreams even though she tried her hardest.She got up and walked to the balcony, pulling the sheer curtains aside to peer at the world in front of her.The moon had decided to emerge at that moment and the entire room was filled with it's ethereal glow She stood at the absolute edge of the balcony and extended her hands forward.She wanted to fly, to be free of the shackles the world had upon her.She stretched even farther, feet tottering dangerously on the narrow edge. Someone was holding her hands, pulling her high, But the force was just too much....so strong that her hand was ripped away...she felt no pain, gazed listlessly at the drops of blood that dotted the white marble around her.She wanted to escape, to be liberated.Closing her eyes, she jumped, expecting herself to fly...but alas, the searing wind and the feeling of falling reassured her of her fate...She violently opened her eyes as her body fell into the lake and her consciousness sank into it's murky depths...
