Someone was shaking me."Clarie,Clarie, wake up!why won't you speak? Clarie!"a familiar voice was  shouting in my ear.I turned, thinking it was my bed."Mary, gimme five minutes"I muttered groggily, semi-conscious and half-asleep.But to my surprise , instead of my soft bedsheets, I felt a cold hard wooden floor.I jolted awake. My head was pounding and my ears rang.My vision swayed and my mouth felt really dry.I sat up unsteadily and I slowly regained my senses.I was aware of a pair of arms around me.

The same voice said"You idiot, wake up.We're not in your cosy palace,we're in a carriage and your darling Mary is a traitor".

I looked up.My vision cleared  and the familiar voice became a familiar face. One with blue-grey eyes staring straight above my head."Ciel!"I exclaimed. He had been holding me.I tried to move backward and stumbled and fell flat.It was then I realised that my leg was shackled to the wall with a chain  and so was Ciel's. It allowed us some restricted movement but the manacles seemed to cut into my ankle painfully.I could hear the sound of moving wheels and the occasional neighing of a horse. We were in a small space and there was a wall in front of us.So this was a cargo carriage.Only one used to transport goods would be this big and divided into two separate sections.

I was pulled out of my stupor when Ciel shook me."Are you hurt?"he asked, worried."No"I said then his words finally dawned on me.I must be in shock or something."What do you mean? Why are you here?Who took us here?"I burst out.

"Calm down, idiot"he hissed"I think that they were kidnappers or assassins. They captured you, most probably to use you for leverage."

"Then why did they......"I bit my tongue. He surely didn't know of his foster father's fate."Then how did you get here?"I quickly asked.

"I heard you scream and the crowd getting really rowdy.I heard you jump off the platform.I followed your voice and your footsteps.I herd the sound of someone manhandling you and just charged after them, sword drawn. They led me to a field and surrounded me".He shrugged ."I didn't stand a chance. And I herd your beloved Mary ordering them.So there....if she isn't a traitor I'll eat my shoes."He said

"Mary?A traitor! How?"I whispered.I felt sick from my emotions.Rage, fear and  anger swirled inside of me like broken bits of glass in a kaleidoscope.I just wanted to curl up in a corner and cry.Today was supposed to be a day of happiness. Not some terrible nightmare."Y-y-you must be.."I chocked out.

"Sush!Be quiet, lie down and pretend to be unconscious.Someone's coming"Ciel said as he gently pushed me.I lay on the floor, bewildered .ciel looked wary and agitated and now even I could hear someone's footsteps creeping towards us.A woman ,completely covered in a black cloak approached us.I felt a shiver passing through my spine. The woman pushed a plate of food towards us."Eat"she told us in a gruff voice and came a step closer.

"Why did you kidnap her?"Ciel asked."I demand you let us go now!"

The woman smiled, a familiar smile.I stiffened and lunged at her.She was surprised. She seemed to have believed that I was still asleep.I couldn't reach long enough to punch her but as she stepped back, her cloak fell down.

"Mary"I gasped.I had hoped, prayed even for someone other than her to be under the hood. But there stood my closest confidante, the woman who was almost my true sister but wrung my trust like an old rag and shattered my belief in her to pieces."Why are you here?"I asked

"Miss.."She started but was interrupted by Ciel."Shut up you hag!Who are you fooling with your servile tone? How could you?Quit the act and show the real you.You don't have even a shred of honour huh?Clarie trusted you!She loved and treated you like an older sister and this is how you repay her?"He seemed to be beside himself with rage.

Mary first turned white. Then some shadow passed through her eyes. She sneered. Her pretty face changed into something horrible. Her eyes gleamed from a wicked light.I gasped, my hand holding the fabric of my dress. My eyes stung and my cheek felt moist.I was crying silently. The bold girl image shattered and a scared little thing was left behind.

Mary laughed, a wicked sound as I stared shocked, amazed and frightened by her attitude."What do you know , you fool!Just because my father helped you , you think that you are above me now? You're just a worthless scum, a gutter rat.Just because my father raised you up you think you're something extraordinary, huh?"She spat"You're just a cursed thing, a incompetent piece of crap."She said

Something clicked.Dorian, her father?Impossible or may be not.Her long blond hair was the same colour and Dorian seemed old enough to have a daughter her age.I knew that his wife had died years ago but was that woman,Mary's mother really his wife?I was still shocked when she pushed the plate of food towards me and walked away.
