"That boy and you. You're really close huh? " Steffan asked, looking at Ciel, asleep on my shoulder. I stiffened. "Well I've known him for quite a long time and there is no one I trust more than him." I said defensively. He smiled , seeing my temper rise." Quite a feisty one, aren't you? Well what are you two going to do after this?" He seemed in deep thought.

I stared blankly at him. What to do? What were we to do? Everything was a mess and there was so much going on behind the lines.

" I don't know ." I said." I guess Ciel had plans to work in the army.... and ..... about me, well I've never had a concrete plan.  I just wanted to live my life doing what I liked." I sighed." But with Dorian gone and my father's fate uncertain, I really don't know how I'll continue forward. " I sighed. The future was really bleak and I was so confused. Dorain's death left a bitter feeling in my heart and poor Ciel, he was really destroyed by it.  I felt scared for my father too. Something had happened. Steffan and my sister were hiding something from us.

"Well Clarie, what do you think about both of you two  working under my service? I don't mean the army..... but ....well  for more covert missions, you know?"
I was speechless. Steffan was a relatively young king but had achieved a lot in a very short span of time. But he was most noted for his extensive spy network, the black hoods. They were rumored to have infiltrated everywhere and were considered to be the best swordsmiths ever. To ask two cursed people like us to join? Had too much of strain made the young king senile?

"I don't know sir, I think I'll talk with Ciel about it. But we're. ....we're not cut out for it. We were easily taken down by a group of thugs.  I'm just a useless stupid naive girl who couldn't even see through a lie" I sighed.  And I suddenly looked at him. Was he doing this for????? Could he be that predictable?  "Helping me won't win you my sister's favour. If that is your intention then Ciel and I will leave as soon as possible. " I said harshly. Etiquette be dammed,  I was under too much stress to put up the cocky King's nonsense.

Steffan seemed startled.  "I'll never do that,  give someone a position that they don't deserve. And I'll never cheat your sister in any way. She is my fiancée for a reason" he said. My sister mumbled something in her sleep and cuddled closer to Steffan. He put his hand around her. Although he was very annoying,  he seemed to like my sister genuinely.

I became aware of Ciel next to me and felt really weary.  I couldn't believe it was just today morning that we had our fight. The strain was catching up with me and I could feel my eyelids drooping as I felt into the realm of sleep.....

The two men stood in front of a huge door, miles away from any civilization. An old man was tinkering with the lock and  it gave a click as the half open doors slammed shut together. Two steeds that were tied to a tree neighed loudly at the sound.
He approached the two men. Both of them seemed to be in their thirties and looked like aristocrats. "It is done, sire" the old man said. "I seal an oath with my lifeblood that this secret will not escape my lips till I die". He bowed and presented them with two crystals, each the shape of a half -moon .Each of the men took one.

" Thank you Jack, it's more than enough for us" One of the men, with piercing blue eyes and straw yellow hair said .The old man walked away and the other man, a chestnut brown haired guy climbed
on his horse." Well, this is goodbye then, old friend" he said. " You have gone above and over the bounds of friendship ,Cornad. No one would shoulder such a curse that affects their entire family so easily" , the golden haired man said.

"Don't fret, Lionel. The time will come when this curse will be permanently broken. And though I am sad that it affects my wife and child, it is imperative we do this if we do not want that evil to surface. It saddens me that we'll not meet ever again." Cornard said.   "Till the fates let at least our successors cross , Cornard, let the lady Danu be kind to you." Lionel said as the men firmly clasped each other and finally he rode away on his steed.........

Lionel stood motionless . Then a fog seemed to appear and he was slowly getting fainter in it..

"Clarie, Clarie  " a voice said in my ear. I jumped
awake and clutched my pendantThe crystal a seemed to be glowing. Ciel was looking at me, his face puffy and pale.  The carriage had stopped and was empty save for him. He looked troubled and his long hair was a mess. His startling gray eyes looked at me and I was reminded of another pair of azure ones. His were darkened by grief, though.

"We're at an inn, we'll stay here for the night. Come on" he said and got up and extended his hand. I shook away the weird feeling after that strange dream. For that was only a dream after all, right?

Hi guys!!!!! Another chapter. What do you think of Clarie's  dream?? Please comment and tell me your opinion.......
