Hello. This is a chapter based on Ciaran. There is this writing prompt about a beast's back story by _Once_Upon in their ever after contests and Ciaran in my story is sort of like a beast. I guess that inspired me. You don't need to read half complete to understand this chapter.

blinding light, searing pain and scorching heat enveloped me. I couldn't move, frozen in fear as everything around me burned, the fire contrasting against the clear night sky.
I sat up straight and opened my eyes. It was quiet and calm, nothing like my nightmare. I got up and went to the bowl of water, splashing it on my face and gazed at the reflection. A face so grotesque that it couldn't belong to a human.
A knock on the door. I straightened and grabbed the mask, securing it tightly round my face. I donned my robe, the garment covering my entire body and pulled the leather gauntlets over my arms, hiding the skin that looked like charred wood.
" Enter" my voice hollow and eerie through the mask. "Chief, we have prepared everything" the newest recruit, a boy with a wooden leg mumbled. He seemed nervous and tried to avoid staring at my face. The metallic mask with its dead expressed always made people uncomfortable.
"I see" I got up and followed him out. We are a group of assassins, responsible for keeping the king's throne safe. We are all outcasts from the society .All of us are damaged, from birth or from some accident. But the people consider us cursed. We do the dirty work of the young king. He is indebted to us. Most of my men and women could hide their deformities and assimilate into the society. But I was an exception, a true cursed creature.
