Betrayal is something that boils through the blood of all creatures with sense. The loss of allegiance, of trust, burns away at your confidence in others. It causes you to doubt your credibility, whether you are a person or an object to be used. These thoughts flittered through my mind's eye, as I stared at Morgel. Was I an object to be claimed for his own selfish desire? Did he think I would submit to the feelings he now chose to force upon me? He claimed he cared, but he would have to witness me being tortured before I even considered being with him.
I couldn't even think about the turn my thoughts took next. What if he chose to kill Elrohir to get to me? I couldn't, I wouldn't escape the guilt of that. Not only would Morgel be taking the only think I could keep, being captured as I was, but he would take my heart and destroy the only thing that could help me escape from such a harsh reality. Would I go mad before that happened? Hopefully I could find a way to have death meet with me swiftly. I would not live without Elrohir and I could only hope my body would agree and give up with me.
But so long as Elrohir is alive I will fight for him. I bit back the tears. This had to be done, whether it meant becoming Morgel's or not, I had to keep him and myself alive. All we had now was hope. We had to hope that someone could liberate us. I was not sure whether I could believe that the army would be the ones to help us. Surveying the enemy's defence, it was a tough job as previously thought. However, Morgel's presence alone changed the odds. He had exemplary military judgement, even if it hadn't been used before. Being taught to become king meant he had access to all records concerning the art of war. Even if the army did win, there was no guarantee they would ever get to Nicholas and Elrohir and we were likely to be transported elsewhere.
"Why the look Galandria?" Nicholas sneered. He was stabbing more knives into my open wounds as he mocked me. "You and Morgel will finally have what you have always wanted ever since you were children. I am saving you from the trees influence and Elrohir who is manipulating you through love." Anger and bile rose inside me, but I swallowed back the bile.
"What would Elrohir have to gain by manipulating me?" I countered. I gritted my teeth as I spoke the words with as much vehemence as possible. "Satisfaction? Elrohir hasn't taken my body. Your traitor on the other hand, I have no doubt he will keep me only to satisfy his sickening desires." I spat.
"Elrohir only bides his time." Nicholas chuckled. "You would be so tied to Elrohir. The Powers, use his advantage to make sure you could never love again. To make sure you could never be free of their influence, even in the comfort of your marital bed." He chuckled darkly at the mention of my marital bed. He was a sick pervert!
"So the answer is to tie me to yours morgel?" He met my gaze with a stony expression I did not understand. I felt tears in my eyes, he was belittling me into an object. "You would force your feelings upon me? Force your body on me? Well I will never let you have me! I hate you do you hear me? I will never love you! You can torture me for all I care, you are dead to me!" I screamed at him, the tears flowing freely.
"I'll kill you before you touch her Morgel!" Elrohir screamed at him, all friendship forgotten. I wondered, if Elrohir really could kill him? Would he hesitate? If Elrohir did hesitate, Morgel might end his life friend or not. Who knew what he was thinking now that his true motives were revealed?
"I don't speak to crazy people." He half whispered. What did he just call me? I was furious.
"If Elrohir doesn't, I'll kill you myself Morgel!" Not that I knew if I could, but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction. "Then I'm coming after you, you deranged bastard!" I glared at Nicholas, the object of my hate. A swift slap landed upon my cheek. It threw my head to the side and I tasted blood in my mouth.
