Jackson slammed his fist on the table, he and Lola sighing in unison. “I swear I’m going to kill him or die trying.” He growled. Lola looked at him as if he were stupid. “Why would you risk your life like that Jackson? You’ve known the girl for a week. Only two days, really. Unless..” Lola trailed off, looking at him, her eyebrows raised. “You like Ellie, don’t you?” She asked, her voice a bit sing-songy. He stood up from his chair, pushing it in as he gripped the back. “You can’t be with her, Jackson.” She warned. Jackson clinched his teeth, feeling his finger nails begin to grow out. “You think I don’t know that?"He asked through clinched teeth, continuing to go on before she could interrupt." I’ve already gotten the memo straight from him. She and I are both dead if he-“ Jackson stopped himself, realizing he almost slipped up. “if we are ever together.” He said, covering up the fact that he had almost told Lola about the evening he and Ellie had spent together. Lola let out another loud sigh, shaking her head. “What are we going to do about this?” Jackson questioned, leaning against the door frame that lead into the kitchen. Lola shook her head. “There’s nothing we can do about this Jackson. If the opportunity ever comes, I guess you could challenge him. But he’s stronger than you think, trust me. A few months ago one of the betas tried..” She trailed off, not finishing her sentence. Jackson heard a light sob come from her before she continued explaining. ”His name was Atticus. He was Addison and Carter's older brother, we had all grown to together. He and I were a couple. One night X tried to rape me, but Addison stopped him. He did it to her instead. Atticus went after him. He almost had X, but he took too long. X is quick, Jackson. If you do anything, you’ve got to do it as fast as possible.” Lola warned. Jackson nodded, walking away from her and back to Ellie’s bedroom. He knocked softly before entering the room, only to find her asleep. He inspected her wounds again, which seemed to be healing just a bit. Jackson leaned down and kissed Ellie’s forehead gently, grabbing a blanket that sat at the foot of the bed. He covered Ellie up, rubbing her shoulder gently. “I promise I’ll be back to see you later.” He assured her, her hand grabbing his as he turned to leave."Don't leave me."She whispered, her hand wrapping around his. Jackson let out a long sigh, sitting on the edge of the bed."How do you feel?"He asked, running his thumb gently over the back of her hand. She pursed her lips, letting out a long sigh."I'd be lyin' if I said I didn't feel like hell."She admitted, a soft laugh escaping her lips. Jackson laughed with her, only attempting to make her feel better."How about I go get you some soup and pick us up a movie, then I'll come back here and watch it with you. How does that sound?"He asked, smiling as he looked down at her."Sounds amazin'."She whispered, grinning at him. He nodded and kissed her hand, standing up."Now you get some rest."He told her before exiting the room. As he was walking down the hall, Lola appeared in front of him. “Where are ya goin’?” She asked. Jackson shook his head. “I’m uh just going to go get her some soup and a movie to watch. I'll be back in a little bit.” He told her, not looking back as he exited the flat. He pulled out his phone, selecting Carter’s number before putting the phone up to his ear. “You alright, mate?”he heard Carter say. Jackson walked down the street, not paying attention to his surroundings."Can you meet me at my place in 5 minutes? It's important."Jackson almost begged, letting out a sigh when Carter agreed to. He cut in one of the back alley ways, beginning to jog. Within minutes he was back at his place, Carter waiting by the door."What's going on?"Carter asked Jackson as he opened up the door. The duo walked in, taking a seat on the couch."Why are you still in X's pack?"Jackson asked. Carter let out a sigh, shaking his head."I may hate him, but I have no where else to go Jackson. Atticus, Addison and I, we didn't have any family, we only had each other. Our mother and father passed in an accident a year ago. X promised us protection. It was perfect for a few months, then he started doing things. He's the reason Addison is the way she is today. He scarred her by what he did. And to top it all off, he killed our brother. Without him here, we are stuck. This is the dead end our life has come to."Carter explained, his voice faint. Jackson sighed, shaking his head."X hurt Ellie today, man. I don't know if he raped her, but I know he tore her up. She has deep gashes in her stomach, they're not healing as quickly as they should. He just left her to die in an alley, but luckily I found her. And he took the memory from her. She has no idea who it was. Lola and I were the ones to figure out it was him. But Carter, we have to protect these girls. We can't let him keep doing this."Jackson told him, his voice stern. Carter looked up at him, the look of fear and anger in his eyes."How do we do it?"Carter asked. Jackson stood up and paced the floor, taking a deep breath before looking down at Carter."We're going to kill Xavier."
