The sound of sobs filled Jackson's ears. It wasn't just one person, there were at least two. But he felt so weak. What had happened? Was Ellie dead? Were the people mourning over her?  Jackson slightly opened his mouth, drawing in a deep breath that made him begin to wheeze. A sharp pain shot through his chest, causing him to grip onto the sheets under him. "Ellie.." He managed to get out between the coughs.  Just as the words were out of his mouth, the sobs turned into soft gasps. Were the people there for him? Or were they too scared to tell him that Ellie wasn't with them anymore, that it was his fault. Squeezing his eyes together tightly, he forced them opened. Everything was blured, but he didn't know where he was. The feel of the room wasn't familiar. He tried forcing his focus on everything, which caused things to clear up a bit. In the corner stood Lola beside a man that  Jackson hadn't seen before but, by his features, he knew it  had to be her father. He could tell that Lola had been one source of the crying, but the man just looked worrired, not distraught. Slowly, his eyes began scanning the room once again. He took in another breath, a familiar scent coming through. Just as it regestired in his brain, there she sat in a chair just feet away from his left side. A smile was on her face, though the look in her eyes said otherwise. "Jackson?" She questioned, standing up from the chair. All he could manage to do was turn up the corners of his lips to form a small smile. A loud sigh escaped her lips as she took one of his hands in between both of hers, bringing it up to her lips. " I thought I had lost you forever this time." She whispered as she placed those soft lips all over his hand. "Never." He told her, attempting to squeeze her hand, though he failed. Lola and the woman exited the room, giving Jackson and Ellie some time to talk. She sat on the edge of the bed beside Jackson, one of her hands now on his forehead, brushing his hair back from his face. "Who is that man?" He asked, staring up into her eyes. "That's Lola's father. He's the Emissary for our pack. He takes care of us when things like this, advises us, helps us get things straight with the other packs." She explained. Jackson nodded the best he could. "What happened to me? To X?" He questioned, running his thumb over her hand. She sighed, shaking her head. "That doesn't matter right now, Jackson. You need to rest so you can heal." Jackson attempted to sit up, though another sharp pain shot through his body. "Just tell me, Ellie." He pleaded. She narrowed her eyes, giving into him seconds later. "X was getting ready to kill you. But Carter and I, we had this plan.." She told him, though he interrupted her midsentence. "Carter? But he and I were the ones with the plan." He told her, clinching his jaw as she shook her head. "His plan was to take part in whatever one happened to take place first. He only continued leading your plan on just long enough to give me time to see if this would really happen. One night, I had a nightmare.. You and I, we were dancing. Then X, he came in, kille-" Jackson arched an eyebrow, smirking. "Killed you, he and I fought then, boom. It was all gone?" He asked. She looked at him, surprised that he knew what had happened. "I had the same nightmare the first time you left me after we had been together." He explained. Ellie nodded, continuing on with her story. "So of course, you know what happened up until he was getting ready to kill you. When he was going for your throat, his head turned to look at Carter, but his claws kept going. Luckily, it was just across your chest. Only inches from slicing your heart. Then he went after Carter, not knowing that he hadn't successfully killed you. They fought, but in the end, Carter ripped his throat out. With his teeth." Ellie exaggerated the last word, her eyes wide. Jackson's eyes widened, his mouth opened slightly in shock. "Teeth?" He asked, making sure he had heard her right. Slowly, she nodded once. "And we were so worried. We didn't know if you were going to die. There was so much blood, Jackson. You weren't healing, we didn't know what to do. We ended up getting you here without anyone seeing, and we're lucky for that." She told him, tears forming in her eyes. "You don't have to cry, I'm okay. Better than that, you're okay." He told her, smiling warmly as her soft lips planted a small kiss on his forehead. "Just lay here with me?" He asked her, grinning when her body laid down beside of him. She was laying on her right side, her elbow planted on the bed, her hand propping up her head. For minutes, the two of them lay there, just staring into each others eyes. After moments, she broke the silence. "Tell me something I don't know about you." She told him. He thought for a minute, trying to think of something the girl might want to know. "Well, I used to turn into this weird lizard like thing. Claws, razor sharp rows of teeth, a tail, paralizing goo. They said the term for it was "kanima". I don't know. Apparently I killed people, but I don't really remember doing it." He admitted, shrugging to his best ability. Ellie looked up at him, biting her lip."That explains it." She said quietly. She was so quiet, he assumed she was just talking aloud. "Explains what?" He question, surprised to see Ellie's eyes flash in the same blue fashion as his wolf form. "Your eyes are like mine. But, why do they do that? Isn't it just genetic or something?" He questioned the girl, confused when she shook her head. "No Jackson. Unlike humans, your eyecolor isn't based upon genes. Every werewolf, when they're turned, their eyes are the glowing golden yellow. Unless.." She trailed off, her eyes moving away from Jackson's. He tilted his head to the side, his eyebrows furrowed together. "Unless what, Ellie?" He asked. The girl let out a long sigh, her gaze meeting his after moments. "Unless you kill somebody, Jackson."
