Jackson let out a long sigh, hitting the back of his head against the tree. The night was dark, though the moon was shining bright in the sky, it’s light bouncing off of the water. It would have been perfect, but he wasn’t sharing the moment with Ellie. The girl he was falling in love with. The girl that broke his heart. ”Damn it!” Jackson growled, standing up. He needed to stop. He wasn’t in love with her, he couldn’t be. They had only had sex. That was it. Hell, they barely even liked each other! They were always throwing smart-ass comments at each other every chance they got. Maybe it was a good thing that they didn’t even try out the whole relationship thing. He began pacing the area, laughing at the thoughts that had just gone through his head. Who was he kidding? Ellie was the only thing he wanted. Staying away from her, not feeling her soft skin, it was all going to kill him.
*Three months later*
Jackson walked through now familiar entrance of the flat, taking in a deep breath. He and Lola had just left the movies, something they had done every Saturday night for the past three months. Usually it was the duo, sometimes Carter and Addison would, X had joined on one occasion, but as far as Ellie went.. That was a whole other story. She was very distant, always leaving the flat she shared with Lola when she knew Jackson would be coming over. On the rare occasion that he caught her out on the street, she would talk for a moment, though she always had an excuse to leave. Maybe it was for the better that she didn’t talk to him. It would help him heal better, though it was tough. Everyday, he would catch himself thinking about the times they had spent together. As far as the plans that he, Lola and Carter had made for killing X, they were still going strong. Everything was falling into place. It was as if he was putty in the palms of their hands. Sure, Jackson and Lola had been forced to get a little physical when X would join the couple, but he had to believe that they were dating. As he reach in his pocket to get his phone, he realized that he had left his phone at Lola’s. “Shit.” Jackson mumbled under his breath. He exited his own flat, making his way towards Lola and Ellie’s. Once he finally reach the door he knocked, squatting down to tie his shoe. Hearing the door open he looked up, his eyes locking with those large blue orbs he hadn’t been able to admire for months. “Jackson.. Hi.” She said, her tone surprised. Jackson cleared his throat, standing up straight. “Oh, hey Ellie..” He trailed off, unable to stop staring at her. God. She was even more beautiful now. She looked down at the floor, opening the door wide enough for him to come in. “You comin’ by to see Lola? ‘Cause she left. She’s at Addison’s..” She trailed off, looking up at him. He shook his head, peering into the room. “No, uh I forget my cell phone here earlier.” He told her, making his way into the flat. She nodded, shutting the door as he entered. “Oh, I thought it was yours. Here, I'll go get it. Lola put it in her room."She told him before disappearing. He walked over to the couch and sat down, taking in a deep breath. Ellie's sweet scent filled the air. It was so pleasing to Jackson. Ellie appeared back in the room, Jackson's phone in her hand. He smiled and walked over to her, holding his hand out."Thanks, Ellie."He told her, the feel of her skin brushing over his as she put the phone in his sending a rush through him."I miss you."He blurted out. Shit. He had just said it instead of keeping the thought in his head. He turned to exit, not saying a word. He felt two small hands wrapped around one of his, stopping him from going anywhere."You do?"She asked. Jackson slowly turned around to face her, nodding his head."I've been in a complete hell for these past three months."He admitted, looking into her eyes as he continued to talk."Every second that would pass, I would think of you, Ellie. Think about how I hurt you. How you hurt me. Do you know what it felt like to find out that you didn't even want to be with me, that it meant nothing to you? I'm Jackson Whittemore. I'm supposed to be the heart breaker, not the person who gets heart broken."The anger in his tone was obvious. Ellie's eyes narrowed as she began to talk."You think that was easy for me, huh?"She said, the tone of her voice raising as she began to talk."You think I wanted to lie to ya like that? You think this wasn't hard for me to do?"She was now yelling. Jackson's eyes narrowed as he looked down at her."What the hell? You're the one who ended everything, Ellie! You wanted to stop!"He shouted back. Tears were now forming in Ellie's eyes."Excuse me for saving your life! I knew that if I didn't end it that night, we would both be dead by now! I love you, asshole! I couldn't just lose you because of my stupid decision! I would rather be in pain seeing you alive then knowing that I'm the reason you die."She yelled, though her voice cracked with the last few words. Did she say love? Jackson could've sworn his heart stopped in that moment. Before thinking he pushed Ellie up against the wall, leaning down and pressing his lips against hers. At first, she fought it, much like the night of their first kiss. But after seconds, she caved in. She wrapped her arms around his neck, their lips moving in sync as if they had never been seperated. Jackson's lips moved from her lips to her neck, kissing every inch of her skin gently. He ran his hands down her sides, lifting her up until she wrapped her legs around his waist. As Ellie's lips began trailing along his jawline, he made his way back to towards her bedroom. He laid her down on the bed, hovering over top of her. His lips gently brushed hers, his eyes locked on hers."I love you."He whispered, then what he had been longing for for the past three months began to take place.
