A large smile was now stuck on Jackson's face. Everything was perfect again. Maybe even better than before. He was with Ellie, the girl he loved. It was a big word to use, but it was the truth. Jackson slid his arms around her, gently pulling her close to him. She was faced towards him, the two of them laying under the covers. She looked up at him, giggling softly."Why are you smiling like that?"She asked, one of her hands rested on his chest. Jackson chuckled, shrugging lazily."I guess I've just missed you."He responded, looking around as he heard a knock on the front door. Ellie's eyes widened, her body quickly moving away from his as she stood up."Oh God, oh God."She repeated, making it obvious that she was nervous. She picked up her clothes from the floor, beginning to pull them on. Jackson sat up, a look of confusion now replacing the smile."What's going on?"He asked, holding his clothes in his hands as Ellie threw them at him."Sh, be quiet."She whispered, motioning for him to put his clothes on. He stood up, looking down at her as he put his boxers on."Who is it?"He asked in a hushed tone, beginning to back up as Ellie pushed him towards the window."X."She told him, quietly opening up the window. What the hell was she expecting Jackson to do? He pulled on his jeans, now only holding his shirt in his hand."When you hear me let him in, take the fire escape down."She urged, almost pushing him out onto the plat form."But, I don't want to leave you here.."Jackson told her, now standing outside her window. She shook her head, quickly kissing him."I'll be fine. I promise, I'll come over when he leaves."She assured him, closing the window and exiting her room before he could even say anything. Jackson clinched his jaw, putting his shirt over his head before adjusting it into it's normal position. When Jackson heard Ellie open the door, he could have sworn he heard X kiss her. Letting out a low growl, he saw his own reflection staring back at him as he looked through the window. His eyes were glowing in the cold, stale blue that they changed to when he wolfed out. He closed them tightly, taking in a deep breath before opening them again. Seeing that they were back to their normal color he let out a sigh of relief, reluctantly making his way down the fire escape. Leaving Ellie, especially when he knew that X was there, was nearly impossible. His pace was fast as he walked down the back alley, in hopes that Ellie would soon be coming to see him again. Once he finally arrived he sat down on the couch, laying back and getting comfortable before shutting his eyes. He was exhausted after the events that had just taken place with Ellie. God, she never failed to amaze him. Taking in a breath, he exhaled it after a moment and before he knew it, he was asleep.
The beginning notes of "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Ray filled the flat, causing Jackson to wake up. He stood up and looked around, unsure where the music was coming from. Seconds later, Ellie entered the room. She was wearing a simple white dress with a light brown, braided, leather belt around the waist. Her blonde hair was slightly curled, a flowered headband around the crown of her head. She stood in front of Jackson, her arms sliding around his neck. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her body only inches from his."I'm glad you're back. How did everything go? Did he know I had been there?"He asked. Ellie looked up at him, her blue eyes looking up at him. Something was different about them. She looked as if she were trying to hide something from him. A faint smile came across her lips, a smile that looked fake."Just enjoy the time we have, don't ruin it by talking."She whispered before burrying her face into the crook of his neck. Where had he heard that before? He closed his eyes as he thought, his head now resting against hers. The duo moved along slowly with the music. As he listened to the lyrics, he felt as if Ellie had picked it out for a specific. She wanted to know that he would love her for ever, though she already knew the answer. As the final verse came on, he thought the lyrics through;
Dear lord, when I get to heaven, please let me bring my man.
When he comes tell me that you'll let him in, Father tell me if you can.
Oh that grace, oh that body, oh that face makes me wanna party.
He's my sun, he makes me shine like diamonds.
Everything about the enviroment suddenly felt wrong. He had been here before. The song, what Ellie had said to him, he had heard before. The night he had his nightmare about X killing Ellie. Hearing a low growl beginning to near the entrance of the flat, he knew that it wasn't just a nightmare. It was a warning.
