We walked into the forest that was closest to where we were. We weren't very far in, when all I kept thinking about was what I saw in my future vision. I kept feeling guilty for not being able to see it earlier. I felt even guiltier for not being able to say goodbye to my mom.
"Elise. It's okay. You couldn't have done anything to prevent it." Suni said, rubbing his still-wrapped hand. Tears began to gather in my eyes. I looked back at Suni, who was following close behind me. They began to stream.
"I know that I couldv'e done something. I just don't know what." I said. I tried to keep a calm voice. Then I turned back around, facing a lake up ahead.
"I'm sorry." I ran to the lake, running as fast as I could. I didn't know why. I dropped my bookbag. I was halfway there, when I yelled, sounding like a battle cry. I fell onto my knees, a sharp pain in the center of my back.
"Oh my god! Are you okay?!" A voice called from about 30 feet away. I heard crunching of leaves running closer from that direction.
"Shina-ki." I called. My eyes were closed, but I could feel her sword in my hand. I could also feel blood tricking down the back of my shirt, and from my lip. The sound of leaves stopped as I pointed Shina's blade towards the figure's direction.
"Stay. Back." I said, looking at the figure that spoke just a few seconds ago. It was a boy, who looked about my age. He had an aura, but it was different than the kinds of auras that my demons had.
"I-I'm very sorry." He said. "Fuji-ro." I felt something come out of the area in my back.
"Ah." I said, dropping Shina. "Shina-ki!" I yelled.
"Elise!" Shana said, running over to me. "Are you alright?!" She asked.
"I-I think s-so." I put my hand on the sharp pain in my stomach. I felt something warm."Oh-Oh god." I said.
"What's wrong?" She asked. I took my hand off of my stomach and looked at it.
My hand was covered in blood.
