After Ghost got me to the house Kari mom left with Kiah so it was just me and Ghost of course he was outside guarding the door and I was in the basement laying on the big ass couch watching The Perfect Guy on the movie screen. Every once in a while I would look from the camera monitors to the movie just to see what was going on around the house and so far nothing. I got more comfortable laying on this throw blanket about to wrap it around me when I heard Kari loud ass screaming my name "Maxxxx" I rolled my eyes not saying not and cut up the tv.
He soon found his way to the basement I looked up to see him shirtless and turned back to the tv "I know you heard me calling you" I nodded "I did and I choose not to answer" he sucked his teeth getting on the couch and pulling my feet into his lap and began to play with my toes as he talked. "Look I want to apologize about what I said about your pops and the whole buying you thing I only said it to hurt you" I shook my head "That's what you don't get Kari I don't give a fuck about what you said and Brian why would I he sold me to you for whatever reason I don't even care about anymore I was pissed off because you felt like you could make me feel better by fucking me and then deciding to throw in my face that I was your property you made it seem as if I had no choice but to let you do whatever and that ain't the way shit works period".
I felt him come behind me and pull me into him. Kissing my shoulder he moved my hair before placing his face on my shoulder next to mine "Look I apologize for what I said we both know in the time that you've been here you became more than something I purchased and I want you to give me a chance to show you that" I shook my head "No I don't have time to be hurt by you Kari you have no respect for me so we can just keep it casual like we have been". "If it takes for me to show you that I respect you and want you in my life that's what I'll do just don't shut me out" I turned to look at him and shook my head "No because it's not me you need to be worrying about caring for its Kiah" it's as if she was her dads twin cause she came in the house just as he did screaming my name "Maxi" I smiled "We in the basement baby girl". Moments later we heard her little fit coming slowly down the steps along with another pair I figured it had to be Ms. Terrell.
They both appeared in front of us Kiah hopped up on the couch and sat in front of me I wrapped my arm around her stomach pulling her closer making sure she doesn't fall. "I had fun with you and Mr. James GiGi" Ms. Terrell smiled "Stop all that smiling who is Mr. James ma" she looked at Kari "Nigga don't question me I'm not the niggas that work for you I'm grown and Mr. James is my man" he sat up "Since when, why haven't I met him" she put her hand on her hip "What I just tell you about questioning me you may be grown but I'll whoop your grown ass you will meet him when I'm ready for you too" I snickered and looked at Kari face "Anyways she ate dinner already and don't forget she start school in a couple days so make sure you get her some uniforms". He sighed "Alright ma" she smiled "Come walk me out Kari" "Why Ghost up there" she cocked her head to the side "Boy you beta get your ass up" he hopped up she started to walk away and you could still hear her going off "Talking bout some Ghost up there like I pushed him out my coochie he must not remember how I get down got me messed up and he better be behind me" I laughed and looked at Kiah "Wanna watch Cartoons baby" she nodded and I turned off the movie and went to the kids section and rented Hotel Transylvania 2.
We were in the middle of the movie and Kari had yet to come back. Kiah laid in front of me under the throw blanket and playing with her hair "Maxi can I ask you a question" I looked down at her to see her looking at me "Yes baby what's up" she played with the end of one of her braids "I was wondering GiGi told me only married people live together that's why her and Mr. James don't live together like you and daddy so I was just wondering why you and daddy not married since y'all live together". I looked at her trying to figure out how I'm going to answer the question "Well baby how about we both talk to your daddy so he can tell you" she nodded "Ok". We sat back and finished watching the movie she feel asleep on the couch before the movie was over slowly getting up I cut the movie off picking Kiah up I slowly made my way up the stairs. When I got to the top I saw Kari in the kitchen cooking he must have heard me because he turned to look at me wiping his hands on a towel he came my way "I'll go lay her down have a seat" he pulled her from off of me and made his way up the stairs.
Once he came back down the steps he came back to the kitchen taking out plates and wine glasses. "I cooked so I hope your hungry" I nodded "I am thank you what did you make" he smiled and handed me a plate "Grilled salmon asparagus and fettuccini pasta" I took the plate "Thank you" he nodded "No problem" handing me a glass of white wine I smiled cause he knew I hated red wine which he gave himself a glass of. "So what is all of this for Kari" he put a piece of salmon on his mouth "I want to show you a different side of me not to many people see you allowed me to get to know you and now I want to give you the same chance I don't want you to always see me as the monster". I put my head down smiling softly thinking to myself should I really give him another chance.
