Rosa looked up from her book. It was a quiet, beautiful day, perfect for sitting in the meadows to read. Finally, the dragons had stopped flying around, and randomly destroying cities. It was almost like a war! As if the creatures were smart enough to have an organized battle! Only humans could do that. Dragons were mindless, evil creatures that happened to live on the same Earth as humans. They naturally had no heart and soul. She hated dragons. After all, they were the ones who had killed her parents and her friends, after a red dragon blew up their town in flames. It wasn't fair. The dragons even sometimes took humans hostage. Or worse, wiped out a whole city. But dragons were the least of Rosa's troubles. The year was 1811, and some cities down at the southern side of North America had started to brew up a revolution. That was not good. If there was going to be a war, with so many casualties from dragon attacks, the northern side of North America was ill-prepared for war. "But then again," thought Rosa, "nothing is good. Not on Earth. Never. At least while there were still dragons." While there were dragons, nobody was safe. If only dragons were reasonable. Like humans. "If only they could be human." wished Rosa.
