CHAPTER 11: STATIC

Static glanced up from her desk at the Thunderwing stronghold, to see King Notos, Queen Tycoon, her mother, Quicksilver, and her brother, Plasma walk briskly into the room. Recently, after her friend, Stormbringer had disappeared, along with his scavenger and a few of the ThunderWing prisoners of war, like the FrostWing, Cloud and the sister of the ShadowWing general, Midnight. Static had spent weeks looking for him, while at the same time being shunned for her failed assassination plot on Queen Shockwave, Stormbringer's mother, after he had ordered an rebellion on the queen. He'd been banished after, along with his legion, and he'd disappeared since. It had been quite a big headline for a while, as Stormbringer was the grand general for the ThunderWing army. Static had been blamed for his banishment and when he took his leave, she was condemned to a month in the ThuderWing prison. Since then she'd gotten repeated visits from her mother, the queen, and the king. She'd left the stronghold in a rage, and spent weeks looking for him. All she'd found was a scavenger trying to steal her treasure that she'd found in a cave. She completely destroyed the scavenger, and she'd flown off as a large band of about 10 scavengers scrambled into view. After that, she flew back to the ThunderWing stronghold, empty handed, her search in vain. As soon as she got back, she'd gone to her deputy office, and in waltzed her mom, brother, and the king and queen.

"Well? Did you find him?" King Notos asked.

" No I didn't. Your highness, I'm sorry about your loss." Static replied. She heard King Notos grunt. "As I suspected. something got in the way of your search. I should've sent a more able dragon." He sniffed and raised his snout high into the air, in a pose that showed absolute authority. Static gave a nod, and the visitors walked off into the hallway. Static gave a heavy sigh of relief. She poked her head out in the hallway, just to make sure nobody was watching, leaped back into her room, and flew out the window.
