The end of the school day had finally came, I hate Friday's, they were always the longest day of the week. Of course it was because I didn't have to come to school for the next two days after and I could lock myself in my house and be the recluse I'd always wanted to be. There was something else that I looked forward to, the Friday night high school football game, which I would deny to my grave to Heather Parton.
After I got home from school, I went straight home as always. As I walked through the door, my mom was getting ready for her next client. She's a massage therapist, she has her own business Set up in our house.
" Hey honey she squealed." My mom is always happy, always in the best mood which I loved and envied about her.
"Hey mom how is work?" " Busy as usual dear, I have three clients this afternoon, all of which has two hour sessions." " Will you be okay with a heat up lasagna sweetheart?"
"That's fine mom.I was actually wondering if I could go to the football game tonight and stay the night with Heather afterwards?"
" That would actually make me feel better if you did Corinne, At least then I won't won't feel so bad about leaving you so much for work. Make sure you text me throughout the evening some so I know you're ok."
"Thanks mom, I'm going to go get ready and grab a bite to eat before Heather picks me up."
I head up to my room and immediately sigh with relief. Man it feels good to be home in my room, too bad I couldn't just crawl under my covers all weekend and read my romance novels and fantasise about it happening to me. My room was calling me to just ditch Heather and stay, before I changed my mind I decided to get up and head to my closet to pick something out to wear. Not that I had too many girly things to choose from; t-shirts, jeans flip-flops and sneakers is what my closet mostly consisted of.
I quickly picked out an outfit that would drawl the least attention to myself, which ended up being a dark pair of blue jeans with some frays and a The Walking Dead T-shirt that had a few walkers on front of it. My all time favorite show by the way!!
I made my way to my horizontal mirror that was on the front of my closet door, I looked at my reflection, ran my fingers through my waist length, straight, dark brown hair. Yep, this is as good as it gets for me!
As I was heading down the stairs I get a text from Heather.
I'll be at your house in a few, change of plans, we're stopping by the mall first.
" Great! "
I text back sarcastically. Although I knew she wouldn't pick up on the sarcasm through text, but I couldn't help myself.
Heather finally shows up. I walk out to her car where she's giving me an evil grin. " Get in the car woman!" I throw her my fake smile. I know what she's planning, she does this ever so often. She will take me to the mall and subtlety suggest I try on some clothes, which I never do. She finally gets tired enough of begging me and drops it, then we leave.
"Heather do we really have time for this right now? The football game starts in two hours, don't you have to be there early considering you're a cheerleader?"
"Ugh! Corinne, you need to lighten up, we'll only stay for forty five minutes tops, I swear!"
The next hour was spent in the mall going from store to store, while I ignored Heather's attempts of trying to make me into her personal Barbie doll.
Heather finally sighed, " okay I forfeit" Thank God! I whispered to myself. " On one condition" said Heather, and what would that be I said. Heather smiled like a fat kid in a candy store," you let me get your hair done before the party." "Okay fine but only because we really need to leave!"
"Nothing too out there though," I made sure to add.
" Oh miss Little you have made my night." I couldn't help but think that I was going to regret this night before it was over with.
With that we made our way to the football game.
