** If Only by Dove Cameron💕
The most embarrassing moment of my life just happened. Jake practically saw my bare chest. All I want to do is run away and hide my face forever. Yet I can't do that. Jake will be coming to pick me up any time now. Why couldn't it all have been just a dream?
Of course if this was a dream Jake would fall in love with me not just use me to be his fake girlfriend so his parents will give him his way. Unfortunately, this isn't a Romance novel or one of those quirky teeny bopper movies I love but I know at the same time is completely cliché, nope this is real life where girls like me get the short end of the stick while guys like Jake end up with girls like Rylee.********
I rolled off of my bed and headed to my closet. "Ugh" What am I going to wear to this dinner, I thought to myself. I started rummaging through the back of my closet where I kept all the clothes Heather had insisted on buying me that I normally only wore once or not at all. "Nothing, nothing and nothing." Then I saw it, a purple dress which was sleeveless with lace at the the neckline. The bottom reached just above my knees. "Perfect!"
The time has come for me to meet Jake's parents. I paced back and forth in front of my vanity mirror. Heather kept staring at me as if I'd grown two horns and a tail, she wasn't helping with the dinosaurs fighting in my stomach. "Cor, please sit down and breath. You're going to put yourself over the edge again." I looked at her annoyed. "I'm sorry Heather, I'm just so nervous. What if they hate me? What if I say the wrong things, what if Jake never speaks to me again after tonight because I embarrass him?!"
"Listen Cor, remember you are doing him the favor here! If his parents don't like you or if he is a jerk after this then he doesn't deserve to even be your friend. You need to realize what a catch you are. The only thing holding you back from all the things you fantasize over is yourself."
I gave Heather a half smile, she always knows how to make me feel better, of course I'm very good at talking myself out of her words so it happens often.
The doorbell rings as Heather takes the makeup brush for some last moment touch ups. "You look amazing Cor, go get your dream guy." I smiled at her remark. " It's pretend" I reminded her. She rolled her eyes and escorted me down the stairs to open the front door.
She opens the door to reveal Jake standing behind it in all his glory. He wore a button up white shirt that was rolled up each arm to his elbows, his black dress pants fitting perfectly in all the right places. He help a bouquet of pink tulips in his hands. He looked at me with his mouth hanging open into an oval slightly eyeing me up and down. He finally seemed to meet my eye contact. He smiled at me with that perfect smile of his. "You look amazing Corinne." I felt my face blush crimson red at his statement. " Thank you." I shuffle my gaze anywhere else but his face. "Well we should get going dinner starts in 45 minutes Jake holds out his hand signaling me to put mine in his. I reach my hand out and hold his hand, he squeezes my hand in his gently rubbing his thumb over the back of my hand. I feels hot electric vibrations coursing through my arm traveling through my heart making it beat erratically, eventually reaching my stomach making dragon wings combust in my stomach.
He guided me to his car hiding my hand romantically, he opens the door looks at me, smiles, "my lady" he gestures his hand to the passenger seat for me to sit in. I dit down avoiding eye contact. My heart was already acting up I couldn't afford to have an anxiety attack tonight. He runs over to the drivers door and hops into his seat automatically putting in the car in drive and driving off. He laced his free hand in mine, rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb as he was previously. I stared at his hand on mine and stole a peak at Jake's face he was looking between myself and the road smirking at me slightly. If he kept this behavior up I didn't know how I would ever make it through this night with my heart in one piece.

************Jake pulls up to his big house and as he starts to open his door a man in a tux comes up to him and takes his keys, Jake hands him money I hear the man say thank you. Jake runs over to my door and opens it for me, as he escorts me to his front door I see the man in the tux take Jake's car and drives off to park it by some others.
He opens the door to his house as we walk in I notice it's just as beautiful if not more than from the night I was here for the party. The night Jake first noticed my existence. That night seemed so long ago, although in reality it was more like a week ago.
A woman walking towards us pulling me into a tight embrace pulls my mind out of my reverie. She pulls back just enough still gripping my shoulders." Ahhh Jacob, you were right when you told us how beautiful she is." I look to Jake and give him a small smile. It could just be the lighting but I could have swore I just saw his cheeks tint pink. I'm sure it was probably just my imagination. He quickly adverts his attention back to his mother. He clears his throat awkwardly. " Mom, where is dad at?" " He will be here soon, he just called saying he was running late in his last meeting of the evening." Jake just nods accordingly.
His mother phone rings, she walks away excusing herself. She turns around to speak before she disappears out around the corner. "By the way dear call me Violet." She smiles brightly then walks out of sight. I start walking around in the vicinity of where we were standing. I was looking at family picture on the walls. There was a picture of two little kids standing in front of what looked like a cabin surrounded by gigantic trees. " Who are these children?" Jake walks up behind me placing his hands on the each arm from behind me. I shiver lightly from close proximity, not to mention from the touch of his skin. "Cold?" He asks, all I do is shake my head slowly, signaling no to his question. He puts his arms around my waist and pulls my back side to his front. He leans his head on my right shoulder as he examines the picture hanging on the perfectly opaque wall
"Oh that's just me and Sammi. That's the lake we used to go to every summer for vacation. Those were some of the best memories I've ever had from those summers at that cabin." He looked down at me. I hadn't realized I was staring up at his face until now. "I think I'm going to make so more amazing memories with you." He leans towards me slowly, examining my reaction. I know I should turn away bit my head feels stuck in place as if I'm paralyzed. He is almost kissing me, I feel his hot breath fanning my lips, enticing me to close my eyes and lean towards him. Suddenly I hear someone clear their throat. My eyes open in embarrassment. Staring at us was an older looking gentleman in what seemed to be his early 50s. "Good evening son, aren't you going to introduce me to your lady friend?
