Austin’s POV

I don’t know who that girl was but she’s hot; and a good kisser. It’s weird though, when I look at her I have no clue who she is, but when she kissed me, it felt familiar. Alex seemed really surprised when she kissed me. Not the kind of surprised I was though. He acted as if he knew her, and so did my mom. All of a sudden I got this strange feeling that something was going on that I didn’t know about. My mom walked back in the room just to grab Alex and leave again. Without a word they left me alone in my room. A couple minutes later they both walked back in, and I could tell something was up. My mom moved her chair closer to the side of my bed and then sat down. She grabbed my hand and started rubbing her thumb against the top of my hand.

“Mom what’s going on?” I asked when she didn’t say anything.

“Austin, after the car accident you went into a coma. You didn’t wake up for three months and somewhere in between all this you lost your memory; not all of it, but most. You remember pretty much all of your childhood and that’s it. The doctors don’t know exactly when your memory stops but there sure are a lot of things you don’t remember.” My mom explained to me. Before I got the chance to answer, my doctor walked in.

“Hello Austin, how are you feeling?” He asked me.

“Not so good.” I answered him, but he wasn’t listening.

“Mrs. Mahone the results have come back and if you would like we could talk about it out in the hall.” The doctor told my mom.

“No that’s not necessary; I told Austin what’s going on.” My Mom said.

“But I thought we agreed to tell him after we figured everything out.”

“Well I changed my mind. I didn’t want him moving on with his life without knowing the truth; that would just hurt more in the end.”

“I guess you’re right. Ok, well the tests show that Austin remembers everything up until he is ten years old.” The doctor told us.

“Wait, how old am I?” I asked.

“You’re seventeen sweetie.” My mom told me.

“How did I lose my memory?” I asked the doctor.

“We don’t exactly know. This doesn’t happen a lot.”

“Is there anyway to get my memory back?”

“Not that we know of.”

Dylan’s POV

I’ve been trying to get my mind off Austin but I can’t. No matter what I do it always goes back to him. I really don’t have any other friends so there is nothing I can do for “fun”. The only friends I made since I got here were Alex, who wants nothing to do with me, Austin, who doesn’t even remember who I am, Robert, Zack and Tyler. Robert, Zack and Tyler have been too busy to even text me. Then suddenly it hit me; Bella. I could text Bella and ask her to hang out. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and texted her.

Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to hit the mall with me today.

I clicked send and then sat on my bed and waited for her to reply; like a loser. When she finally replied and said yes I hopped off my bed and then walked into my closet. I picked out a hot outfit and then did my hair. I had to fix my makeup because it was a mess since I had been crying. When I was finally ready I shot Bella a text telling her I was on my way and then I walked out to my car. That was a bad idea since Austin lived right across the street. I saw his car in the driveway and I tried my hardest to hold back the tears. One slipped out and rolled down my cheek and I wiped it away quickly. I sucked everything up and then drove to Bella’s house.

We were having a pretty good time at the mall; I guess. It seemed like Bella was enjoying herself but I sure wasn’t. I still couldn’t get my mind off Austin. It also didn’t help that every five seconds a Mahomie would come up to me and ask me how Austin was. What was I supposed to say? “Oh yeah he’s fine he just lost his memory and doesn’t remember who I am”. Yeah, that’s perfect. I guess Bella asked me something because she started calling my name and snapping her fingers at me.

“Oh sorry, I was just thinking.” I apologized.

“About Austin?” She caught me.

“How’d you know?” I asked her.

“Well if my boyfriend didn’t remember who I was I’d probably keep thinking about it too.” She told me.

“Yeah, that’s true.”

“So what are you going to do?”

“What do you mean?”

“Well I know you love him, so you can’t just forget about him. So what are you going to do to get him to remember you?”

“I don’t know. What is there to do really? I tried kissing him, that didn’t work. I tried to ask him if he remember me, that didn’t work either.”

“Well what did the doctors say?”

“They said it doesn’t happen often so they don’t really know what you can do.”

“Well than you just have to do something big and tell him that you are his girlfriend and you guys are in love.” Bella told me.

“Yeah I guess you’re right. The only thing is, we have to start from the beginning.”

“What do you mean?”

“We have to tell him all the important things that happened to him that he forgot; like how he’s Austin Mahone.”
