I could sense all the energy around me focusing on me. I knew where I was without even opening my eyes."So, we're going to continue the training from where we left off?" I asked before I opened my eyes.
"That is correct Jacob." Sensei answered walking over to me.
"Who will I fight first?" I asked getting ready to sword fight.
"Before we start the lesson, I want to know how and why you activated your armor Jacob." Sensei said looking into my eyes.
I then proceeded to tell him about the armored warrior and how he wanted me to prove myself as trustworthy. I didn't tell Sensei his name because he was only trying to protect himself. He was only doing what he thought was necessary.
Sensei then took a moment to think before asking, "So, your armor is blue?"
"Yes, it is." I answered keeping my steady tone.
"Then you are the blue warrior of legend." He said now deep in thought.
"I know I am and I know that the future won't be kind to me because of it. I don't know however what I'll be doing to save the world though." I said now loosing myself in thought.
"Just don't think about that yet. The more you think about it, the more worried you will get." Sensei said before changing the subject. "Now, we will continue from where we left off before. Jake, you and Isaac will be sparing again." He said handing each Isaac a practice katana and me two katanas before going around to the other eight and doing the same for them. This time they were real katanas like the ones my armor made for me.
"Now parry and begin." Sensei said watching over all of us.
We crossed swords and I felt the sword in my right hand slip slightly as we pulled our katanas away. Isaac barely gave me any time to adjust my hold on my katanas before he started attacking. He swung directly for the right side my head and I quickly parried with the katana in my left hand before swinging towards his left side with the other katana.
He saw this and quickly swung his katana in a arc down to the left side of his hip and blocked my attack. Then in one swift move, he pushed my katanas off his; causing my katanas to be pushed up to the left while he was starting to swing his katana over his head and down towards my right leg. I quickly brought my katana in my right hand down from the left in a arc to meet his while I swung my left katana towards his right arm. He must have been expecting that and he did a back bend and then a flip to get him back into a fighting stance.
"You've been training a lot in these last few hours." I panted.
"Yeah, I wanted to be ready for you. I barely got to fight last time before I was on the ground." He replied out of breath.
I looked to each side and saw that everyone else had stopped to watch our little battle. This was getting intense very fast and we all knew it. Before Sensei could say anything we started going at it again; but something bad happened. Sensei called to us saying to stop and that distracted me. I was swinging my katanas to parry his attacks and missed one because of this. His blade came down and slashed me across the face and right across my right eye.
I screamed in pain while covering my wound with my right hand and Isaac stopped instantly and stared in horror at what he'd just done. I felt like my face was about to peel of and just fall to the now blood stained floor.
"I thought you said no one would or could get hurt here." Isaac whispered out barely being able to talk because of how shaken he was.
"He's the blue warrior. Reality will sometimes bend to his will and cause things that can't normally happen to happen; like this." Sensei said.
I could detect in his voice that he was also surprised and slightly shaken by this turn of events. I reached up to my face with left hand and felt my face. I opened my left eye and looked at my hand to see it covered in blood... my blood.
Then my watch's screen lit up and it said, "Scan complete. Condition: Severely wounded. Repair, replacing, and regeneration started."
Everyone looked at me as the same machine that fixed my shoulder appeared in front of me pointing at my right eye; or where my right eye used to be. Then a blue tractor beam came out of the front of the machine and pieces of metal, wires, and circuit boards came together inside the beam. Everyone watched with curiosity as the machine started putting the pieces together to form a electronic eye.
The eye was the size of my other eye and the same shape as my eye that was destroyed. It glowed a bright blue and had a lens on it with a spinning analyzer the same color as my iris and it was located where my iris would be. The only problems were how was I going to see with it, how will it be put back into my eye socket, and how on Ladoria would I be able to hide the fact that I would have a robotic eye from everyone on Ladoria.
My first question was answered when my watch made a chiming sound a message appeared on the screen saying to lay down on my back. I did what was asked and the machine started to connect the wires of the robotic eye to the nerves that connected my eye to my brain.
As soon as the last wire was connected, I saw a screen that said, "Booting, please wait."
Then my new eye turned on and I could see again. There was a big see through blue circle with the center cut out of it covering fifty percent of my vision. I started to wander how I would be able to go around with a large blue circle in the middle of my vision, when the circle disappeared. I wondered where it went and it came back. I then thought of it going away and coming back again and it did what I was thinking.
'It must be linked with my watch and my brain somehow.' I thought as the machine inserted my new eye.
"Look at that Isaac. That machine just made him a new eye to replace the one you destroyed." Said one of the other armored warriors.
"Lucky, when I got hurt that bad, I had to hide it from my parents until I could find a way to fake an injury." Said another one of the children.
"Replacement finished, repair and regeneration starting." My watch said as soon as my new eye was completely inserted.
Then the machine did what it did to me when I had the piece of metal in my shoulder and fixed my face; but it left a scar going across my face and across my eyelid.
"My first battle scar." I said sadly.
"Injury cloak activated." The watch said and the scar vanished.
"Now I need to hide this eye from my family." I said out loud to myself.
Then a message appeared on the screen in my eye saying, "All you have to do to hide your eye is to think about it being hidden and it will camouflage itself to match your other eye; and don't worry; you don't have to keep thinking about it to keep your eye hidden. It will only come un camouflaged when you want it to."
"That's handy" I said thinking about it camouflaging itself and it did.
"Did you see that? His eye just turned from a glowing robot eye to a normal human eye!" one of the others said.
"I'm so sorry Jake. I didn't mean to hit you or hurt you. I.." Isaac started to say; but I stopped him.
"It was an accident. Everything's okay now and I'm fine. That's all that matters." I said smiling.
'Even if it was his fault, I won't hold a grudge against him. I mean, it was an accident. He didn't mean to destroy my eye and give my that scar. He was just practicing with me and I didn't block his attack.' I thought to myself.
"Okay, that's enough sword fighting for today. Today's lesson is over; we will meet again in a few weeks to see how much we have learned." Sensei said as everything faded to black.
