It’s been a couple of days since Georgie left. I’m quite surprised by her actions really. I mean, I feel pretty bad, but her visit has only left me feeling like I’ve let another person down. Again. Yay, claps for Mads…
Luke, Jai, Rach, Issy and I are now in the domestic terminal waiting for our flight back home. It feels like forever since I’ve visited. I feel bad for mum and dad, but there’s just no time to come back often. We are going to be in Brisbane for 6 days – three before the wedding and two after, because Trevor wouldn’t let us have any longer off work. He’s gotten so feisty lately.
“Flight 269 to Brisbane is now boarding. First class patrons, please make your way to the terminal,” the speakers blast out. Climbing up out of my seat, I grab my carry on and Jai’s hand and head on board.
To be honest, I’m scared to go home. I’m scared of seeing Harry and the others, of confronting Georgie and everything she said of home not being the same. I’m scared of the mole, I’m scared of the media, and most of all, I’m just sick of being scared all the time.

“MADDY OH MY GOODNESS IT FEELS LIKE YEARS! HONEY I’VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH! AHH I’M SO GLAD YOU CAME BACK FOR THIS!” my beautiful sister Sally screams into my ear as we step off the plane. Of course we are still greeted by paparazzi, but there is no way us West girls are gonna let a few camera’s ruin our reunion.
“Oh Sally don’t even give me that. I’d chop off my toes to be here for your wedding day! I can’t believe it’s finally here, after all the planning we did for it when we were kids! I’m pretty sure I’m more excited for it than you!” I exclaim back at her.
“Nope, I guarantee you there is no way that is possible. This is all my life has revolved around for the past three months. Gosh your sister is one handful,” Jokes Greg, stepping out from behind Sally after she finally lets me go.
“Greg!” I yell running up to him. “Now you realise if you cheat on Sally once you kids are married I have the legal responsibility to chop your manly parts off,” I say to him, jokingly of course, but still making my point clear.
“Understood ma’am,” he replies, as we begin walking through to baggage claim. After all that is taken care of and we have caught up briefly, my friends and I make a beeline for the exit whilst Sally and Greg head to the right to the international terminal.
“Sal, I think you’re going the wrong way,” Rachel says.
Sally pauses and shares a knowing glance with Greg before turning back to us. “Oh, right… uh, we just have to pick up a few… guests from the international terminal. We’ll meet you in the van okay?”
“Uh yeah, ok,” I reply, even though I’m pretty sure she’s talking about the boys of One Direction. Here we go. Once we get into Greg’s thirteen seater van, which he bought to carry around an athletics squad he coached a while back, I sit back into Jai’s chest, preparing myself for the inevitable meeting with Harry which is approaching far too quickly for my liking.

Half an hour. That’s all it took them to get through customs, boarder security, baggage and the fans. Crap. I thought I would have longer to think through all the possible scenarios that could happen. But no, here I am, startled by the opening of the van door as my old friends walked through the door.
At first they didn’t say anything. Just kind of sat there, looking around awkwardly. Luckily, Harry had the sense to sit in the front seat with Greg, which can be bordered off if wanted. Once he had done that though, everyone jumped up and reunited, welcoming each other’s hugs. Yeah, it’s only been like a week or two since we saw or spoke to them, but that’s like a record for us.
