Chapter 10

Zayn's POV

i am going to tear his head off.Adam smiles at me.His fangs are extended.I ran at him.He moved quickly and got me in a headlock.I reached behind me and grabbed his head.Then i threw myself forwards and Adam flew off my back and into the table.which broke in half.before he could get back up there was a blur and Adam cried out in pain.i saw blood swelling out of a scratch on his cheeck.he swung at the blur that was circling around him with speed that i could barely see the figure.then adam closed his eyes but he looked plaer than usual.

then with a roar of anger Adam opened his eyes which went completely black.The figure that had been circling was thrown back and landed on me.we both went down.Dark brown hair covered the face but i knew it was Clary.she looked up and snarled.her golden eyes had gone black too.but instead of attacking Adam she grabbed me by the collor of my shirt and pulled me up and practicly dragged me outside.the back door of the car opened and Clary yanked me in after her.soon Kendall was driving at top speed towards town.On the turns she swiftly turned and pressed the brakes lightly and turned the steering wheel.What is she a race car driver or what?then we were going back to normal speed.I noticed Clarys head was bleeding.But i held back from touching her cause her eyes were still black and her fangs were slightly peeking out puncturing her bottom lip.on a soft turn clary opened the car door and jumped out and ran into the woods.Kendall braked hard."what the hell Clary"she yelled after her friend.

I was going to open the door but Kendall locked it."dont.I think she needs some time alone"she said.Clary was going to feed.but she was out of control right now.Her eyes hadnt gone back to their normal color. I unlocked the door and ran in the direction Clary took off.i heard Kendall yell at me then i heard the car driving off.I caught Clarys scent and ran after her.Her scent had a faint throb of power in it.It didnt have that before.Now im starting to question if it was smart to chase a vampire at night in the woods.oh well too late to go back now.I almost past by Clary.she was huddled on the ground.Her knees tucked up to her chest.Her eyes seemed to be shifting colors from gold to black.tears streamed down her face.I knelt by her."are you okay Clary"i asked her."you are stupid.why did you come after me?"she asked."to keep you from doing anything stupid that i would have to clean up"i said.i gently wiped her tears with my thumb.she didnt push me away but stayed still at my touch.

"Zayn i am trying but i dont think i can last long anymore.It hurts.I already had a rabbit.i should be full now but its as if i were just drinking water.Zayn please leave"she said.Her thirst.I could see her fingers digging into her jeans.she seemed to be holding her breath also.I am just torturing her by being near her.Now it was my turn to feel hurt.It hurt to see her this way.To see her hurting.I gulped.i know what i have to do."Clary go ahead"I said to her.I had caught her eyes drifting to my throat."no.i cant Zayn.Its not right.I will hunt a deer or somthing"she said shutting her eyes."no its not going to help.do you want to loose control again and harm you aunt.your uncle.and im offering it to you"I said calmly and carefully."No"she said.

"Clary you need it.animal blood wont cut it.Its time and im willing to help you so please take my offer instead of having to lose control and kill someone"i said to her."i might kill you"she said."no you wont.i have faith in you.You are stronger than you think.and if you kill me then fine.it was my fault not yours"i siad to her wiping a tear that slipped down her face."i cant Zayn"she said but from her voice i could tell i was winning."Please Clary.i want you too.Im offering my blood to you.You need human blood"i said to her.she moaned.I won.i scopped her up in my arms."I hate you"she said."i know"i said.she placed her lips over mine.then she placed her lips on my neck.i was prepaired for the pain.all i felt was a slight sting.Clary drank hungrily.

Her hands clenched and unclenched the back of my hair.I moaned but not from pain.I caught glimpses of images in my mind.pleasure, hunger,fear, but before i could catch the last one Clary licked the punctures and pulled away.i felt the two small puncture wounds closing.Her lips were stained red and a bit of blood flowed down her chin.I smiled.she did it.clary smiled back.i wiped the blood off Clarys chin and wiped it on my shirt."you did it"i said to her.Our faces were still close.She looked at my lips then smiled."i know"she said.i kissed her and she kissed back.I never wanted to come up for air and i sensed that she didnt either but we pulled apart a bit."thank you"she whispered."anytime love"i said to her.she hugged me and i held her.I felt whole with her.This is where i belong.by Clarys side.I didnt have to worry about anything cause with her everything was right.Clary traced the tattoos on my arm.

"come on its late"she said after a while.I had been softly falling asleep.She helped me and we both walked back onto the road."Zayn im sorry"Clary said as we got to the small path that led to her Aunts house."for what"i asked."getting you disowned or whatever its called by your friends"she said."how did you know that"i asked."when umm i was drinking your blood.i caught glimpses of things in your mind.that was one of them"she said.so the images i had been seeing were clarys.cool."yea well its no big deal.it was worth it"i said."no it wasnt.But thank you.You can stay the night if you need a place to crash"she said as we walked up the porch to her aunts house."i would say no that i can find somwhere else to sleep.but i am exhausted and a pillow sounds good"i said.Clary laughed and pushed open the door.Clarys Aunt had came running towards us."clary gawd i worried about you.Your car wasnt there and its nearly 1 a.m. and Kendall called saying to call her if you came back home"she said.

"sorry.i was with a friend and we got into a bit of trouble but we are fine.Can he stay the night? he doesnt have anywhere to stay"clary said to her aunt.her aunt looked at me from head to toe.disaproval was on her face but i guess something on my face changed her mind."fine but he is sleeping on the couch.i dont need you two messing around"her aunt said then went upstairs.Clary rolled her eyes and i felt my cheeks go hot.Clary grabbed some blankets and a pillow from a closet and handed them to me.

"downstairs bathroom is down the hall and to the left.you know where the living room is.so goodnight"she said and headed for the stairs.i caught her hand and pulled her towards me.I gave her a lingering kiss then pulled away."goodnight"i said.she smiled and headed upstairs.i went and laid out the blankets on the couch then went to the restroom and washed my hands nad face.My face looked pale and tired but my eyes glowed with excitement and wholeness.

not the dark shattered look they used to have.i went back to the living room and laid down.before i fell asleep i thought someone whispered in my ear."this isnt over.i will have her".i was already falling asleep so i didnt have time to think about it.
