4. Moving Forward

The gang and I moved back onto the highway, to seek a faraway land that would take us away from Nagoya. Mika appeared to be quite upset from last night. I already told him that I didn't untie the girl, but he wouldn't listen to my annoyance.

"Everyone, look!" Shinoa pointed at the next city ahead. The large green sign above us said OKAZAKI.

"Okay guys, we're going to enter the city and check if any survivors are available."

"And then what?" Yoichi asked.

"We'll meet up at the town square." Shinoa informed.

"Did you guys pack the flares with you?" I asked.

Everyone checked their bags. "Yeah we got it."

"Alright, take position!!!"

Mika and I departed into the city before everyone else. We started out by Okazaki Central Park. Everything was in destruction. Nothing was left unharmed.

"This park is such a dump." I cringed at the dark atmosphere.

"It's a pity no one comes into these places anymore." Mika sighed.

"One of the only places that children get to enjoy their childhood." I added.

"No more of those..."

Mika and I strolled to the playground. The slides were covered in dirt, and the swings were in bad conditions. The monkey bars were melted. We both looked on in disgust by how bad the things at the park looked. "Let's get out of here..." I mumbled.

Mika and I hurried out of the playground onto the streets. We came across a supermarket. "Let's go check inside." Mika suggested.

"Alright then, I guess."

Upon getting inside, the doors shut, causing the store to be very dim. I actually held my duffle bag with my katana in my other hand. "This isn't gonna work..." I gently dropped my bag on the floor, readying my katana. I walked around, spinning in circles to keep an eye on everything I saw.

Mika hastily ran up to me, and pushed me to the ground. "Mika!!!" I tried to yell as he covered my mouth.

"Shh...stay quiet." I blushed as Mika looked down at me, and looked away towards the entrance. "Let's go." Mika got up, taking me by the hand and speedily ran behind some rows around the aisles. I knelt down, peeking over.

"You hear that?" Mika whispered.

"Hear what?" I asked.

"Stay low." Mika ducked a bit, causing me to lower my head.

I listened keenly to see if I heard what Mikaela was hearing. " I can't hear a thing." I mumbled.

"Just wait..."

"Are you sure you heard them come over here?" I heard a male voice say.

"Yes!!! I'm positive!" A female voice joined.

"Oh dear, Chess, you need to pay attention." A grown woman voice was then heard.

"Who is that???" I whispered to Mika.

Mika's eyes lit open. "It's him...!" He exclaimed.

"He who?" I arch an eyebrow.

"Crowley. I think those voices are Chess and Horn."

"You mean that cheeky bastard that had Guren held hostage."

Mika rolled his eyes and sighed. "Yeah."
