Wait

Day three

The next morning Taehyung was awoken by his manager, seated in the chair by Taehyung's bed, sipping coffee as he watched the news. The singer cleared his throat and slowly sat up, causing his hyung to mute the tv and quickly say "you're awake! I didn't mean to wake you, I'm sorry, do you need anything?" Taehyung shook his head "no I'm ok, but I need to talk to you." The manager nodded, and the singer continued "I'm not taking chemo therapy.  And before you say anything, let me finish. I want things to go on as normal, I don't want the others to know. I promise to come the hospital for check ups, but we'll have to be sneaky. In three months we're supposed to be signing new contracts, but I won't be. I'm quitting the group, I'll move back home and go through chemo if I'm still alive by then. You can't tell them, you have to promise me hyung." The manager sighed shakily, nodding "if that's really what you want. I'll go along with it, but you need to talk to the big man about all of this.... Are you sure you want to do this to them?" Taehyung nodded confidently "I am. It's for the best this way, I don't want to drag them down or make them worry over me." Silence filled the room before the manager stood up, sighing again "I'm going to go call him, the others should be here any minute. They skipped practice since they're releasing you later today..." Taehyung nodded, watching his manger retreat out the door. He closed his eyes for a moment, collecting his thoughts and emotions. None of his plan would work if he couldn't play the part. So he shoved all negative thoughts away and smiled at the silly cartoon that had started playing on the tv.

Suddenly movement of the door being opened prayed his eyes away from the cartoon and he grinned as Jimin came into view "Jiminie~!" He cooed and held his arms open for a hug. Jimin rolled his eyes, chuckling and hugging Taehyung, tightening his grip after a moment and mumbling "I'm sorry for being an ass.." Taehyung laughed, ruffling the red heads hair "no worries. I'm sorry for hurting kookie, I didn't mean to." They both laughed and soon the other members were shuffling into the room all chatting. Soon Jin spoke up over everyone else "ok! Let's go get some food for ourselves, and Taehyung." Taehyung's eyes widened, he knew he wouldn't be able to keep solid food down... Shaking his head he told Jin "sorry hyung but I already ate." Jin pouted, crossing his arms across his chest "well ok then... How about we go get some lunch for ourselves then?" Everyone seemed to agree and Taehyung watched them leave one by one, noticing the way Namjoom's arm wrapped around Jin's waist and grinned at the two. He chuckled, causing Hoseok, the last one leaving, to pause "hey Tae? Do you mind if I stay with you? I'm not really hungry yet.." Taehyung shrugged, trying to act indifferent despite his inner anxiety. Leaving Hoseok behind was going to hurt so much, but he tried not to think about what would happen in the future. Instead his gaze focused on Hoseok, his eyes travelled over every inch of the dancer before he replied "sure you can stay." Shakily.

Hoseok took a seat in the bedside chair, crossing his legs and slowly being distracted by the cartoon playing. Taehyung found himself marveling at every detail that made Hoseok. Before long he was thinking back to funny memories and he couldn't help but grin like an idiot. Hoseok noticed his stare and grin, standing up and moving to sit next to Taehyung on the bed "I can tell you're staring Tae~" he purred, then chuckled with a smile "hey I need to talk to you... About yesterday...." His smile faltered causing Taehyung to frown "what about it Hobi hyung?" Hoseok took a deep breath and sighed "I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry Tae, it's just.. I really like you.. But kissing you while you were asleep was wrong!" Taehyung giggled, shaking his head "hyung, I wasn't actually asleep. I was doing that on purpose to get your attention. Stop worrying about it, but.." Taehyung debated lying and crushing Hoseok's heart now rather than later but decided ending it now would only make things awkward. So he let himself have a little joy in saying "I like you to." The look on Hoseok's face was priceless. It was utter confusion mixed with joy and something else he couldn't recognize. Hoseok draped his arm over Taehyung's shoulders, and the brunette rested his head on Hoseok's comfortable shoulder.
