{alternate ending that takes place immediately after the chapter Preparations}
The next day after his surgery, Taehyung shifted in his sleep, eyes slowly cracking open only to be met by the white ceiling shining above him. He blinked, eyes adjusting before wandering around the room to see his friends all staring at him expectantly. His mother rushed to his side, hugging him with tears pouring down her cheeks "you're finally awake" he looked around the room once again, noticing one person missing. Hoseok. His eyebrows furrowed and he quietly asked "where's Hoseok hyung? And what happened? The last thing I remember is being taken in for surgery.." The room grew silent, tension hanging in the air. The suddenly dark atmosphere scared Taehyung, and he asked again "where's Hoseok??" He sat up, wincing slightly and staring at his mother demandingly "where is he?!?" Everyone in the room flinched, his mother frowning deeply with teary eyes "they took you in to surgery, but the liver transplant they had lined up wasn't compatible so..." She released a shaky sigh "Hoseok.... He made them run a test and when he found out that his liver was compatible he.." Taehyung's eyes widened, shaking his head "no, what are you saying?! You're lying!!" The room remained quiet for a few tense moments until Namjoon spoke up "he put himself on the donor list, but since hospitals can't just kill someone for their organs... Hoseok walked out in front of a truck..." Taehyung's eyes welled up with angry tears, clutching the sheets harshly as his heart broke. The love of Taehyung's life had ended his own life to save him. And now he was all alone...
