The aroma of bacon, eggs, sausage and pancakes filled my room. My mom really knew how to wake me up. Today was the day I would finally get to see my Dad. My mom and dad got divorced when I was eight. It wasn't a tragic event, considering I was too young to really understand anything, expect for the daily fights that happend every night between my parents. It would be over the smallest things and turn in to one huge argument. Over all, my parents were both two amazing people, but I guess that's what brought out the worst in each other. Since I am eighteen, I can drive to my Dad now. It was about four hours from my house, including traffic. I really liked traveling anyways. The aroma of breakfast was way too strong for me to still lay in bed. I stood up out of bed and brushed my clothes straight. My long brown hair dropped to the center of my back as I stretched out. I rubbed my eyes and walked to the staircase and lightly dragged my fingertips on top of the railing, just incase I fell while walking down the stairs like always. "Goodmorning sunshine" my mom said approaching me, planting a comforting kiss on my forehead. I gave her a small smile and sat down at the table. "Help yourself to any breakfast that's already on the table" my mom shouted over the sizzling of the bacon. I nodded and grabbed a sausage and started to eat it. That was one thing I was going to miss, my moms cooking. She really knows how to cook.

As I gather some things together here and there, I noticed that it was almost time to leave. I quickly threw on flip flops and brought heels to change in for later. Time ticked and before I knew it, I needed to leave. I had everything I needed for the month in the appartment where I was staying. I don't stay at my dads house because he lives with his new girlfriend Mariah and her children. Tbh she's a bitch as fuck! I know she just stays with him because of his money. It was so obvious that anyone could realize it, but him.

I stood in my doorway and took one last look at my room. This is where I grew up, and I was leaving it. It felt almost as I was leaving forever instead of a moth. I shut the door behind me and made my way downstairs. I saw my mom waiting by the door for me. A couple tears shed from her eyes as she threw her arms to the side for a hug. I almost cried myself. I hugged her so tight, I could hear her heartbeat. "I'm going to miss you so much" she said between sobs. "I'm going to miss you too, mom" we just stayed there in eachothers arms for awhile. It felt way to short when she finally released her grip. Her eyes were red and she managed to wear the warm smile that she always does. "Bye mom, I love you" I said as I turned to open the door. "I love you to and make sure to call me when you are there, okay". "I will, don't worry!" I opened the door and waved goodbye. I shut the door behind me and from here on, I knew it would be the start of something new. I could feel it.
