I slowly opened my eyes, stretching and turning to look at my phone. It was already 8:00 a.m., but I realized that it was quite chilly in the room, considering that the heater was on full-blast. I snuggled tighter in my blanket, before I realized that it was impossible to go back to sleep when I could hear someone yelling downstairs. Young Mi and Eun Yung must have woken up early to cook breakfast again.
I shuffled out of my bed, and let out a huge yawn as I walked over to the window to open the curtains. The sight that greeted me made me stop mid-yawn, and I couldn't help but let out a squeal of excitement.
It was snowing. The beautiful snowflakes danced playfully in the grey sky, and melted when the touched the window. I sighed wistfully as I recalled the harsh winters that I would always have to face back home in Canada. Though I remember I complained endlessly about the huge amounts of snow and ice during the winter, I somehow found myself missing it here in South Korea.
Someone suddenly tugged on my arm urgently, causing me to snap out of my thoughts. I glanced over to see an excited Young Mi.
"What is it?" I asked absently, trying to turn my attention back to the snow.
"Come on, hurry up!" Young Mi squealed in reply, and I let out a small smile before allowing myself to be dragged by her all the way downstairs, and into the living room where the TV was on.
"Is that...?" I began, a smile on my face.
"That's right!! Our performance in the MAMA awards," Stephanie confirmed for me, from her comfy spot on the couch to the right, "fans loved it."
"Oh, you've been checking Instagram?" I questioned, settling down beside Eun Yung on the opposite couch.
"Yep. If you didn't know yet, that picture you posted of you and Chen got quite a bit of likes," Stephanie replied, biting back a laugh, "they're asking you to update soon."
"Quite honestly, I'm surprised the fans haven't figured it out yet," Chae Hyun laughed.
"Oh no, there's already quite a lot of speculations. They even have a ship name. What was it again...?" Eun Yung tapped her chin thoughtfully.
"Jolly!" Young Mi squealed, "it's so cute~"
"Aish guys, stop it," I groaned, unable to stop a smile from appearing on my face all the same.
"By the way, Holly," Stephanie stopped scrolling through her phone to look up at me, "you're going somewhere today, right?"
"Yep," I nodded, a small smile appearing on my face.
"While you're gone, I'll finally be able to watch horror movies!" Stephanie cheered, "you're no fun, not being able to handle scares."
"I'm sorry I'm so easy to scare," I mock-pouted, and stood up from the couch, "we have a schedule first, right?"
"Photoshoot in an hour," Eun Yung informed me, glancing at the clock.
"An hour?! What? We need to start preparing!!" Young Mi squealed, jumping up from her spot on the couch, "let's go!!"
While I was in the midst of picking my outfit for today, I took a moment to pause and glance around. Stephanie was doing Eun Yung's nails, and Young Mi was curling Chae Hyun's hair. I watched as Stephanie chatted animatedly about what happened last week when she met her favorite actor on a T.V. show, while Chae Hyun and Young Mi were both flipping through a magazine together, and commenting on the pictures. It had only been a year, but it certainly hadn't felt like it. It felt as though we had known each other for a long time already. Though none of these girls could replace Sophia, I was still so grateful everyday that I was in a group with them.
