-Carmen's POV-
After I calmed down, I remembered something: the magic wand charm. Why did she need that? And why did it glow at such weird times? There has to be a pattern there... I pondered it for a moment. The charm had been glowing in the picture, where they were all smiling. It had glowed when Thorn had convinced Mom and Dad to let me stay. It had glowed when she had gotten away with talking back and jumping on the bed.Mom and Dad. It had something to do with Mom and Dad. But what? I sighed, assuming I would have to simply wait and find out. Surely it would come together eventually, wouldn't it? As I walked downstairs for dinner, I continued to think on it.
"Oh, hello, Carmen. What would you like for dinner?" Mom asked.
"Um, whatever you have, I guess." I replied, trying to be polite. Wait- why was I being polite? It wasn't like I was a guest- I lived here! Suddenly, Thorn ran downstairs.
"Carmen!!! I- I lost one of my charms! Come help me find it!" Thorn grabbed my arm and led me upstairs without waiting for a response. I guess dinner will have to wait.
