Trey
Liberty inspects the baby clothes and sneakers I bought at the mall. She lays under the covers on the bed with her stomach bulging.

"You like them?" I ask.

"They're so ADORABLE!" She says while sniffling,"Our son is about to look so fresh."

The hormones are starting to kick in. I laugh and kiss her forehead. She puts the clothes back into the bags and kisses my lips.

"You think he's gonna be a daddy's boy or momma's boy?" I ask her as I put the bags away in the closet.

"Def a mommy' boy." She says with assurance.

"What? Nah. I don't think so." I reply taking off my Rolex watch.

"And why?" She asks.

"Because that's gonna be my mini me. Let's not start a debate Lib." I say with a playful smile.

She rolls her eyes and says,"Whatever."

She stares at the pictures of the ultrasound from last week with a smirk.

"I can't believe this is growing inside of me. A human being that will be able to walk, talk, play, and can even become a president." She says in awe.

I change into my briefs and no shirt, before hopping into bed with Liberty. I pull her shirt up so that her stomach is exposed and rub her belly in circular motions.

"I'm ready for him to come out already." I say.

Liberty giggles and places her hand that holds her engagement ring over mine.

"Give him another three to four months." She says while intertwining her soft fingers into mine.

"Both of our mothers are driving me nuts about the baby shower next week. They stay blowing up my phone."

My mom and Liberty's mom decided to come together and plan a baby shower for us. They're not letting Liberty do anything but pick out the theme and cake, and honestly, I don't mind. Less stress for her.

"Just let them do it. They're both becoming grandmothers for the first time. Let them have their fun, babe." She says sweetly.

I sigh and say,"I guess."

I kiss her belly before pulling down her shirt, and reach up to peck her soft lips.

"I love you." She says before pecking my lips.

I peck her lips and say,"I love you too. Now let's get some sleep."

I get under the warm covers and cuddle up with Liberty. She snuggles her face into my necks and breathes in deeply before letting out a content sigh. I reach over and turn off the lamp so that the only thing shining in is the moonlight.

"Are you happy, Trey?" She asks.

"I burst with joy every time I wake up and see you asleep next to me. And, knowing that you're gonna be truly mine in about a year and you're having my child makes me ecstatic."

I think I said the right thing because she wraps herself tighter around me.

"I'm elated, baby. I couldn't see myself carrying someone else's baby. You make me feel safe and important." She says quietly.

"You and our child are the most important people in my life right now." I mumble back.

There's a silence between us as I think about our future. Soon enough, I feel Liberty's even breaths as she sleeps. I smile and close my eyes.

I wake up the next morning to the doorbell ringing like crazy. Liberty mumbled something incoherent and turns over. The clock reads 10am, but it's Saturday.

The person begins to bang on the door as I walk downstairs.

"Hold on! Damn." I say with aggravation in my voice.

It's not one voice, but two voices that respond.

"Open this door, young man!" My mom yells.

"Come on!" Liberty's mother exclaims.

"Shit!" I mutter under my breath as I open the door.

Both of my mothers stare at me in aggravation before pushing past me into the house. This is gonna be a long morning.
